I subconsciously stepped back as my feet collided with the wall.
I had felt many things whenever I was around Killian- comfort, love, desire, happiness.
But true terror was never in that list.
Until now.

His howl tore through the dungeon like thunder, reverberating through not just the cell but the entire dungeon.
I could swear I saw the walls shake and tremble, the loose dust and tiny pebbles from the ceiling fall down at
once.
His deep howl was full of rage and fury along with a bit of pain and the sound was haunting, making the torchlight shiver violently against the walls. The sound wasn’t human, it wasn’t even fully wolf.
It was something deeper, older. I was not sure how I knew that. I just knew.
I clapped my hands over my ears, but it wasn’t enough, because I thought my ears would start bleeding real
soon.
The sound pressed into my bones, rattling them as if his fury was a living force searching for cracks inside
“Killian!” I shouted over the echo, and the chaos around me, my own voice breaking under the weight of it.
“Stop–you’re bleeding!”
But he didn’t hear me. Or maybe he refused to.
The chains rattled violently as his muscles strained against them. I could see the thick and long nails that were embedded deep into the floor and walls.
They were shaking as he continued to move violently.
Every pull, every jerk of his body sent fresh rivulets of blood streaming down his arms. His wrists were already raw, flayed open by iron biting into flesh, yet he pulled harder still.
The iron collar scraped against his skin, the cruel spikes pressing deeper until I saw red dripping down his
chest.
“No, stop, please!” I begged, shaking the bars until my palms burned. “You’ll kill yourself before you even get
out!”
I shouted in a hoarse voice. Killian had been so silent and calm one moment, and then a raging inferno the

What got him so pissed?
“Look at me, please!” I shouted but my voice was getting drowned out amidst the terrifying howls and the rattling of chains.
“IAN!!”
I shouted with all the energy I could muster, with all the love and care I had for him. I was not sure why I called him Ian and not Killian.
But at that moment I was trying to recall the man I had first met- the smiling, soft–spoken, easy going man who scrubbed my tiles and cooked for me.
That word seemed to finally reach his ears because he fell silent upon hearing me cry out his name. The name I used to call him when I wasn’t aware of the existence of Elorin or Martin.
When my life just revolved around Bureau files and loneliness.
He paused briefly and I repeated softly again.
“Ian, please, calm down.”
He looked up at me then–and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe.
To say he had gone silent was an understatement.
His eyes were not just angry. They glowed, molten and furious, rimmed with fire. Not yellow like the werewolves. Not silver like the Lycans I’d read about. Something else. Something darker, brighter.
And they locked onto me.
“Martin…” His voice cracked into a growl, his teeth gritting so hard I thought they’d shatter. “He dared–he dared put his filth on you.”
“It’s just clothes,” I said quickly, though my voice trembled. I pulled the robe tighter around me, wishing I could smother the look of murder in his gaze.
“What else did he do?” He asked in that same furious voice.
My eyes widened in fear as he tugged hard at one of the chains and one of the several nails holding the chain together creaked.
I didn’t like lying to him. Because he never did it to me.
But right now, I was not sure if telling him the truth would be a safe bet.
“He didn’t touch me, Killian. He didn’t.” I said and I hoped my voice wouldn’t betray me.
That glow in his eyes flickered, dimmed–but didn’t fade.

He looked at me as if he could see right through me, my soul and tell it was a lie. But I didn’t want him to think about it.
I had to distract him.
So, I pressed closer to the bars, lowering my voice even as my heart thundered. “Look at me. I’m here. I found you. And that’s what matters.”
I strained my arms to reach his face, craving his touch.
