Chapter 48

Valencia

My heart was pounding hard against my chest as he held me close to himsell. The fabric of his coat was soft and brushed aside when he tugged at me.

My bare back brushed against his chest as a button seemed to have popped off when he yanked a hit too hard at me to pull me to his side.

My breathing grew uneven as frecalled our earlier memories when he had been in my home, cooking and snuggling with me

am not yours?I said in response to the words he had said to Fabian earlier.

You aren’t a very good liar, Miss Valencia Graham. He said, his mouth coming even more closer to my face.

His lips were almost touching the shell of my ear as he whispered.

You are mineHe said again and my heart leaped up with equal parts excitement and nervousness.

Even if my heart skipped a beat due to the sheer confidence with which he said that, I tried to shove him away

I was my own person and nobody owned me.

When he wouldn’t let me go, I dug my elbow into his abdomen. He let out a surprised scowl and his grip loosened enough to let me step away from him.

Thad barely pushed him away and opened my mouth to talk to him when I heard somebody clicking their tongue behind me.

Tsk tsk. Trouble in paradise already?I heard Martin ask me, eyeing the tension between me and him,

Killian was about to step forward but I signalled him to stay put and looked at Martin instead.

If you spent more time with Maclyn rather than observing me, maybe she won’t be so pissed at you.

I thought Martin would grow angry at that but he only laughed.

She is fristy. I get why you want to have her all for yourself, little brother.”

Martin said, even though I was glaring at him.

I get it, little bro. She challenges you, and you love to prove to her that you are right. Makes things interesting, I assume.”

I had raised a hand to stap

lap the ever loving shit out of him because I was done with his taunts and with Killian’s confusing treatment, but Martin caught

my hand mid air,

His eyes bore into mine as he held my hand and looked at Killian,

Maybe you also didn’t educate her on how to treat the crowned prince of Elorin, little brother,

He then looked at me and let go of my hand.

I will forgive you for this act only because you are new here and have my father’s mercy, but remember this, if you ever try to disrespect me again, I will be the one to skin you alive, blessed or not.

Martin said, gritting his teeth hard

Killian came forward to dissolve some tension and began dragging Martin away from me.

Look, there’s something important thay boon wanting to talk about to you. Do you have a minute?

Chapter 48

I glared at both the brothers, not wanting in deal with either of them for a while.

Martis gave him a curt nod, and they both walked to the side, leaving me alone for the first time since I came here.

And trouldn’t be more happie

The two had been stressing me out for one reason or the other, and I decided to take a few deep breaths and just relax for a while,

All around me, couples were already dancing to the soft music being played by the musicians. The fire was still burning, though it had reduced greatly.

A few were sticking marshmallows and other items in the fire and eating it while having a good laugh,

I also spotted drinks in a corner

Would you care to join us for a drink?I heard a sweet female voice behind me.

I turned around to see a young girl smiling at

She pointed to her group of friends, all of whom waved at me. Fabian was there as well.

Of course,I said, and she tagged me along as I joined the small group

She handed me a glass and clinked hers with it before moving on to talk with her friends excitedly.

Somebody asked her for a dance and she left with the man to dance.

Killian and Martin just made it sound too intense and deadly, but the rest of the crowd seemed to be rather chill and relaxed.

Nobody was trying to hunt me down or run away from me. My gae ficked to Fabian, and I mumbled.

I am not going to turn you into a pig

He only blinked at me awkwardly, and I wasn’t sure if i had scared him even further.

He extended a hand and asked, Dance?

I gulped down the drink and went ahead to dance with him. Fabian and I began dancing around the fire but it was already dying down so he asked.

Mind if we go somewhere less crowded?

I nodded, feeling happy, and a little relieved ever since I came here. Fabian seemed like a nice guy and he led me to the far edge of the gathering

We could still hear the music, but the sound was a little low here.

He pulled me into an embrace, and I frowned.

This is not a dance!

But his hands were already roaming on my back, and he was cupping my breasts.

Quick, now give me a kiss so that I can show everybody how you were drooling over me.”

No, stop!I tried to shove him away, but my head was already feeling fuzzy.

Hove!! You did your job. Now hand her over to mellTheard Martin’s voice as he showed Fabian aside.
