Chapter 52
This girl was hotness personified. And it was doing me no good that she was trying to climbs upon me like a tree every second.
Common sense dictated that I should leave her the fuck alone right now. She was not in her right mind.
But I just couldn’t walk away from her. Not when she was
she was not
even hersel
Though a small voice in my head said it was because I was dying to have her look at me like this ever since I brought her here.
She has been a little distant and cold, wary of me ever since she came to Elorin. And I couldn’t be mad at her because I was the one who tricked her.
It was for her own safety, though.
An involuntary shudder coursed across me to think what if the others had found her before me? What if Martin had spotted her when she was drunk Ske
this and dragged her here like the maniac he is?
What about the others who were just as power hungry and would have fought over her like she was a piece of lamb everybody wanted to get a share of?
I looked at her seated quietly in front of me oscillating between feeling guilty for her acts and getting aroused due to the wine.
And the smell. The delicious smell of her arousall
She sat there innocently, and I tried hard to focus on the various cuts and bruses on her body. I tried to clean them to the best of my ability.
But goodness, she was so distracting with her innocent eyes and curious expression, I resented myself for bringing her into this land of wild wolves.
Valencia was my sweet flower, a foisty one but still untouched by the pore and filth in this kingdom. She didn’t know how deep the politics ran or what strings I had to pull to ensure she was safe
Even back in the city, I just couldn’t drag her here like father had instructed us to. When I saw her all the nights ago in that pub, she had appeared so lonely and miserable.
Even if her face had been confident, there was a sadness in her eyes. And I had interacted with a lot of women to know that she was only faking it, that inside she was dying and wanted to run away from that place.
So when she mistook me for a callboy. I just played along. Something was drawing me to her, like an invisible magnet
i just couldn’t take my eyes off her, I admired everything about her. The way she laughed, the way her eyes lit up when she smiled, the contours of her
She was fucking perfect and I didn’t want her to be seen by anyone. Part of me just wanted to take her somewhere far from all this mess and hide her from the eyes that wanted to use her for their selfish interests.
It was even worse that some of these vultures were my own blood.
And I was mentally counting the number of scars on her legs, the look of utter terror and exhaustion on her face when I found het.
I didn’t even want to ask her who must have give her the wine. The answer was clear as day
Thad pulled Martin away from her so that he would stop hovering around her but instead he found a clever way to send me away from Seranth ynë, saying that father had called for me.
However, Father had never called for me. He was reveling with his courfers and was unhappy to see me barge in their small celebration.
That wasted a lot of time for me, time where I could have been around Valencia and told her not to drink anything

Chapter 52
I cursed myself yet again for failing to protect her. Come tomorrow, I was going to deal with Martin.
But for now, I had to look after my princess, my queen, who could melt me with those gorgeous eyes of hers.
“Does it hurt?” I asked while polling out the small pieces of stones and dirt lodged in her skin. When she didn’t reply, I looked up to see her staring at me.
Her eyes were wide, and her lips were parted.
“Valencia” | gently snapped my fingers in front of her, but it looked like the wine had overtaken her senses again.
And I swear I had never found anything so irresistible. She was staring at my face, at my lips, and I could see the desire shining in those cute eyes.
“Can you say that again?” She asked softly.
“What?” Lasked.
“My name. It has never sounded so full of melody.” She said and batted her eyelashes.
And I didn’t know how to react.
She was flirting with me! After she had just survived the forbidden forest and being stuck in the woods alone for hours.
I also noticed there were wounds and scars on her arms and neck. She had run hither tither in the woods. And she was not healing like
a regular woll
The injuries might lead to infection or sickness if they weren’t cleaned promptly. The forest was filled with some very poisonous plants…
So I cleared my throat and asked instead.
“Now, would you mind taking that gown off?”
No sooner had I said that, she looked at me as if Christmas had come early. She got up from the stool instantly and tried to reach for the zipper on the
back of her dress to pull it down.
“Yes, this dress is very heavy and itchy. I want to take it off.”
“Okay, easy there!” I got up as well as she began bending and twisting herself to take it off
“Calm down and let me!” I said finally because she wouldn’t stand still,
