I Bought the exiled king (by Natalie Winter) novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Valencia

Mary insisted that this was for the best and that staying with Killian would ensure I was safe, but I didn’t want to believe her.

I could not stay in this foreign land just because my body sometimes desired a stranger who lured me here.

So an hour later, I was wearing one of the maid’s gowns because Mary was hesitant to tell me where Prince Killian was, as per his orders.

Thus, I grabbed a maid’s dress when I threatened to leave the room just covered in sheets and that her beloved Prince Killian would be horrified that she

let me.

She wanted to get me a proper dress, but I didn’t have time.

So, I was walking down the hallway, ignoring her protests.

If you dont want me complaining about you, you better leave me alone.

The poor girl nodded and walked away, making me feel slightly guilty that I had taken out my frustration on her.

But it was night already, meaning I had spent the entire day snoring on Killian’s bed. And as much as I would have enjoyed that fact, I still had to find him and get some answers.

Only now that my brain decided to recall events even before us making out, I remembered Martin and the entire event of Seranthyne.

I had to meet him and talk about his wretched brother and that cursed girl, Maelyn. They had tried to make me miserable, and then Martin had made me run to the Forbidden Forest.

There had to be some kind of protection the King provided to the Blessed One if I was so important to free the kingdom of its curse, right?

And I didn’t think King Aecidus would grant me an audience if I went alone, so`l had to tag Killian along.

It was late at night, and I just hadn’t realized that I slept through most of the day. The castle was truly a maze of passageways, staircases and rooms that seemed to stretch from one end to the other.

I tried keeping track of where exactly I was and where I was heading, but after a while, my mind couldn’t keep up with the maze like structure anymore.

I just wished phones worked here so that I wouldn’t have to roam around this place anymore to locate Killian.

I stopped at an intersection that branched out into two pathways on either side. Wondering which side to pick, I randomly chose right and began walking

down that hallway.

And three doors down the line, I suddenly heard a scream that made me stop dead in my tracks.

I froze and turned my head in the direction of the sound.

That scream seemed to be of a girl. And it sounded like she was hurt.

I approached the door I thought I heard the noise coming from and placed my ear on the door.

Just a second later, I heard a loud moan that made me stagger back.

Yes, there, right there!I heard a raspy voice that was all too familiar.

Maelyn.

And then heard another voice.

Chapter 55

You are so needy!A man growled as I heard the sounds of thrusts and moans. But I didn’t think that voice belonged to Martin necessarily

But it was not my business who slept with who so I began to step away, but then I bumped into something

Look who is roaming around in the castle at this hour.

A voice drawled, and I immediately stepped aside from the owner of the voice. I hated that voice.

It belonged to Martin.

I tried to increase the distance between us, but then he tried to grab me, and I kicked him hard in his knee, making him howl in pain.

Bloody maid!He winced, and I turned around to look at him.

He seemed surprised to see that it was me and not some maid he had tried to grope.

Upon seeing me, his expression changed.

This night is turning wild by the minute,” He said, straightening up and smiling at me as if I were his friend.

I gave him a scathing look and began to walk away, but he tried to lunge at me again, and as a result, we both landed on the door behind me.

Let me go!!I screamed and began kicking, but then, at the same moment, another moan sounded from behind the door.

Oh, look at you. You want me but still want to play hard to get, right, blessed one?He asked.

His breath reeked of liquor.

He had probably drank his way through the frustration of having lost me yesterday in the forest. Did he even remember how he wanted to hunt me

down?

I didn’t expect him to apologize, knowing what a scumbag he was, but I didn’t expect him to pounce on me the second he saw me again.

You are moaning for me!!He drawled, and I reached for the closest object, a vase on one of the tables beside me and flung it at his head.

The ceramic crushed against his head and broke into pieces, but at least he stepped aside and was howling again.

Meanwhile, the door behind me opened, and a man stepped outside, adjusting his clothes and looking around.

What is this ruckus? He demanded, but when his gaze fell on Martin, he immediately had a guilty expression.

He walked over to Martin and began asking him, What happened? Who did this to you?in a very worried voice while Maelyn, who had been inside the very room with him, slipped out and was going to run away.

But then she saw me, and she froze for a second. She realized Martin was absolutely wasted but that I was in my senses and could out her secret.
