Chapter 126
Rhea couldn’t make sense of what Carter was raging about, so she simply hung up. After thinking it over, she called George. “George, sorry to bother you so late.”
George’s voice was relaxed as he said, “It’s fine. What’s up?” He was at the hospital with Bryan and
“I just wanted to ask, you didn’t meet with Carter alone, did you?”
Carter’s words just now were all accusations about her and George.
“I didn’t,” George replied.
Rhea lowered her gaze before saying, “Alright then. Good night.‘
After ending the call, she thought for a moment and called Nathan.
Nathan took a while to pick up. “Rhea?”
“Nathan.” She guessed that he might know something. “Something seems to have happened with Carter. Do you know anything about it?”
At the mention of Carter’s name, Nathan’s drowsiness vanished slightly. “He called you?”
So he really did know about this.
Rhea asked, “What exactly happened?”
Nathan summarized the situation briefly. “Uncle Arthur ran into the Jamison guy’s friend, a Henderson, and Lauren at the hospital today. Uncle Arthur overheard them badmouthing you.
“You know uncle Arthur’s personality and how much he cares about you. The Henderson family’s
factories were all shut down.”
Rhea felt a wave of gratitude. Arthur had doted on her since childhood, even more than Liam. She curtly said, “Okay, Got it.”
Nathan paused for a moment. “Don’t swallow your anger, okay?”
“I know, Nathan. Good night.”
After understanding the situation, Rhea checked the time and learned that it wasn’t too late. She changed her clothes and drove out of her neighborhood to head to the hospital.
Apologizing was out of the question. But Peter had repeatedly undermined her, both openly and subtly. Rhea figured that it was time to settle that score.

Along the way, her phone kept ringing, but they were all calls from unknown numbers. She guessed that it was probably Peter’s parents calling.
The Henderson family’s business wasn’t huge, but it was significant in Colburn. With their factories suddenly shut down, they needed to address the problem.
. At a red light, Rhea answered one of the calls.
“Hello? Is this Mrs. Jamison?” Gabriel spoke urgently.
Rhea gazed into the night’s darkness. She said, “This is Rhea Ravelle.” She didn’t acknowledge being Mrs. Jamison.
Gabriel reacted quickly. “Yes, Ms. Ravelle. I’m Peter’s father. My poor parenting has caused you trouble. This is entirely my fault. Please let me know when you’re available so we can personally apologize.”
Rhea didn’t want to make things difficult for Peter’s parents. After all, Peter was the one at fault. However, she still felt a surge of indignation.
Carter blatantly slandered her and demanded that she apologize. How dare he!
So, Rhea said, “I’m free now.
“Alright, alright! Then we—”
“I’m going to visit your son anyway.
Gabriel was stunned. She was going to visit Peter? How could he put her through such a hassle?
He quickly asked, “Shall we meet you at the hospital?”
“Sure. See you later.”
Within five minutes of hanging up, Rhea arrived at an orthopedic hospital.
Peter’s arm was fractured in the accident. It wasn’t severe, but he still needed care.
