After thinking twice, Louie asked apprehensively, “Ms. Ravelle, who exactly are you?”
He knew she was likely related to the Ravelles in Draventh, but he didn’t know exactly how.
After a brief silence, Rhea stood up. “The chairman of Evercorn Capital is my father.”
With that, she waltzed out of Scott Group, leaving Louie stunned in his office. He couldn’t believe that the chairman of Evercorn Capital was Rhea’s father, her actual father. It turned out that she was Liam Ravelle’s daughter.
Who was Liam? A top official in Draventh!
As for Evercorn Capital, it wasn’t a family–owned business but a state–certified and backed investment company. Liam was at its helm.
Within the group, its main focus was investments in healthcare and construction, which contributed to national development.
It could be said that within Dalea, 90% of the landmark buildings and facilities were backed by Evercorn Capital. They were the pinnacle every entrepreneur dreamed of reaching but could never
become!
And beyond that, the Ravelle family themselves were terrifyingly powerful. They were an existence that people often heard but never encountered.
Louie would never have imagined that he would one day be lucky enough to meet someone from the Ravelle family, let alone that the family’s heiress worked at his company!
His hand trembled slightly as he reached for his landline and called the finance department. “G–Give
Ms. Ravelle a raise!”
The finance department’s manager said, “Yes, sir. How much of an increase should we give?”
Louie said without hesitation, “Make it double the deputy CEO’s salary. Wait, no! Give her double the double!”
“Understood, Mr. Scott.”
Louis was still dazed after hanging up. How on earth was he supposed to treat someone like Rhea?
Then, he thought of Carter, Sounding almost vindicated, he muttered, “What an idiot. Instead of guarding someone as precious as Rhea, he decides to go after an old flame. He deserves whatever bad luck comes his way!”

Once Rhea returned to Westvale Villas, the maids started preparing her dinner.
Just then, her phone rang.
“Hi, Nathan.”

Nathan sounded cheery. “I have a gift for you to celebrate your imminent escape from misery.”
“What is it?”
“The international auction house in Colburn’s city center. It’s yours now.”
Although Colburn couldn’t compare to Draventh, it still had a thriving economy. The auction house in the city center was the largest in the southern tri–state area, with a rumored weekly turnover in
the hundreds of billions of dollars.
“Nathan, you didn’t need to spend all that money on me. I have a job now, so I have more than enough money,” Rhea said.
“Where are you working?” Nathan asked.
“Scott Group.”
Nathan had to think about it for a while. “The one in Colburn? Owned by a Lou–what’s–his–name?”
“Yeah.”
“How much do you get paid there? Is it enough for you to put food on the table?” Nathan asked. ” Anyway, I didn’t pay for the auction house in full. George chipped in half.”
Rhea’s lashes fluttered slightly. “George?”
“Yeah. He said that it’s for you to pass the time with. I also had someone bring a card that acts as proof of funds. It should reach you soon.”
