Chapter 158
Alisha hurried to Adrian, saying, “Mr. Adrian, let me see.”
Adrian’s nose was quite red, and he kept rubbing it.
Alisha’s heart ached for him. Everyone said that motherless children were pitiful, but they had no idea that Arielle and Adrian were equally pitiful despite having both parents with them!
“I’m fine, Ms. Berry. Don’t worry,” Adrian comforted Alisha.
She brought him some cold medication. “Let’s take something for your cold.”
Scarlett snatched it when she saw it. “This isn’t the right way to raise a child. You’re just destroying his health by making him take medication at the slightest sign of falling sick! Everyone complains about their kids having poor immunity nowadays. How can they build up their immunity if they’re being fed medication at all times?”
“But he’s already caught a cold. Things will just get worse if he doesn’t take the medication now!” Alisha protested.
“It’s just a regular cold. He can stick it out.” Scarlett left with the medication.
Alisha gritted her teeth in anger, but there was nothing she could do. So, she left to make Adrian a
hot drink.
…
Carter had just had lunch at a commercial street with a business partner. As they were leaving the restaurant, they ran into Louie, who was heading inside.
Louie was all smiles. “Small world, Mr. Jamison.”
Seeing him reminded Carter of what Sharon had said the night before. He said, “I have some advice for you, Mr. Scott. Don’t misjudge the people in your life. You might think some of them can help you, but they’re actually leading you into a trap.”
Louie raised an eyebrow. He had misjudged someone? He thought that Carter’s words were better directed at himself.
His smile widened, and he said, “Please enlighten me, Mr. Jamison. How exactly have I misjudged anyone?”
Carter didn’t beat around the bush. “Do you think having Rhea work at your company as a consultant is a good thing? I don’t think you even know who exactly she is.”
Rhea’s identity?

Chapter 158
Louie narrowed his eyes, wondering if Carter had found out who she really was.
“What does that mean? Who else can she be?” he asked.
Carter sneered. “She told you she’s from the Ravelle family based in Draventh, right?”
Louis was taken aback.

Seeing his reaction made Carter sure that he was right. Rhea had actually lied to Louie so brazenly!
The contempt in his tone was as clear as day as he continued, “Listen to me. She’s not related to them at all. She just wanted to make herself look good so she could fool you into giving her a job! You’re far worse than your father if you actually bought her lies, Louie.”
His car arrived after he said that, so he got in and left.
Louie remained where he was, still stunned. Then, he blurted, “What an idiot. Which hole did he come out of?” (1
Behind him, his secretary was rendered speechless. She wanted to tell him to keep his voice down. After all, Carter could still hear him!
Louie hadn’t been taken aback earlier because he believed that Rhea had lied to him. On the contrary, he was just afraid that Carter knew the truth about her identity.
Rhea and Carter had yet to completely end things. What if Carter regretted everything after learning that Rhea came from such a powerful family?
They were married, after all, and married couples didn’t hold grudges against each other. If they kissed and made up just like that, Louie would lose the biggest support he had!
He turned and headed into the restaurant, patting his chest as he said in relief, “Damn, that scared the hell out of me. I thought that the idiot found out the truth!”
