Sharon almost laughed out loud. “And why not?”

She wondered what made Rhea so different from the rest of them that she got to ignore the rules.

Just then, Colin walked over and politely asked, “Excuse me, have any of you shown proof of your funds yet?”

Sharon was caught off guard by the question, but quickly pulled out her invitation.

“We were invited here, so we don’t need to show any proof.” She raised her brows at Rhea, her expression showing a hint of smugness.

After all, they were in Colburn, not Draventh. No one here would help Rhea anymore.

“Sharon, let it go,” Lauren murmured, tugging at Sharon’s hand. “She’s just here to look around. Don’t make things hard for her.

The words implied that Rhea was the type who would jump at any chance to squeeze her way into high society. They came from powerful families, so they figured that there was no need to bother with people like her.

Sharon gave a thin smile.

Peter’s gaze slid over to Rhea’s profile. “Yeah, Sharon. Picking a fight with her would be just a waste of time.”

“I just think people who don’t belong here only cheapen the value of the pieces being auctioned,” Sharon added, her gaze lofty.

With that, the group left together and headed toward their seats.

Rhea hadn’t spoken a single word to them. She didn’t care. They didn’t matter to her.

Colin bent closer. “Ms. Ravelle?”

Rhea shook her head. “Just give me a regular seat. Leave the VIP room for the guests.”

“Understood.”

Colin quickly placed her in the very first row. It was close enough to see every detail of the pieces being auctioned.

As Colin guided her to her seat, he leaned down and whispered, “Ms. Ravelle, Mr. Snider will be

As it happened, her seat was right in front of Lauren and Carter.

knew her.

Carter spoke up as well. “It’s good to see you here, Mrs. Miller.”

Elsie turned toward the sound of his voice and immediately saw Lauren holding Carter’s hand. Her gaze flickered, then drifted back to Rhea. She didn’t know what was happening.

Sharon blurted, “Mrs. Miller, you might have to change the way you address her. This is the real Mrs. Jamison.”
