David caught on immediately. “Silly, you don’t have to beat around the bush. You don’t want this woman to get treated, right? Easy.”
“Thank you, Uncle David,” Rhea said.
“I’ll be visiting your grandparents tomorrow. You should come home too.”
Rhea agreed. “Okay.”
After speaking with Rhea, David stayed up all night, having his assistant reach out to all the hospitals and institutions he partnered with.
In their field, sending a message was simple. There was no need for fanfare.
Within just two hours, the directors of all top–tier hospitals across Dalea had received Lauren’s medical files.
She was officially on Rhea’s blacklist. Any hospital that didn’t want trouble would refuse to treat her.
Upon hearing the news, the director of the orthopedic hospital rushed back to the hospital in the middle of the night.
He confirmed that Lauren was indeed a patient there and immediately contacted her attending doctor to persuade her to discharge the next day.
No hospital in Dalea dared cross David.
Not only because of his personal ability and family background, but also because his wife was incredibly formidable.
David’s wife, Janae Blake, was a leading expert in pediatric cardiology in Dalea. She was so formidable that if she declared a child would survive, it practically guaranteed it.
After David wrapped everything up, Janae had just returned home from her shift, and he told her
about Rhea.
She immediately frowned. “What kind of disgusting nonsense is this? Rhea must be so upset. I’ll spend some time with her tomorrow.”
Everyone in the Ravelle family treated Rhea like a treasure, especially Janae, who loved the younger female members of the family despite having only given birth to a son.
Even when night fell, Rhea stayed in the car without going home.

Chapter 185
Her phone kept ringing with incoming calls from everyone.

George had called once and then stopped. Nathan, however, was relentless. He nearly drained her phone battery.
She didn’t want to answer. Carter’s disgusting words had left her upset and unsettled, and her emotions lingered for a long time.
At the private club, Nathan cornered George. “You had better give me a proper explanation for this, or I’m not going to let this slide.”
George had remained quiet after Rhea had asked him that question. He knew that she wasn’t asking for real answers. Yet, hearing her ask him had sent his heart racing.
The woman he had loved all these years no longer saw him as just a brother figure. That felt like progress to him.
George stubbed out his last cigarette and looked up. “Explanation for what?”
“What’s going on with you and Rhea?” Nathan put his hands on his hips. “I told you to keep an eye on her every move at Colburn, and this is how you do it?”
George asked, “Do you hate me?”
Nathan froze.
George stood and, for the first time, spoke to Nathan with a hint of hostility. “Or do you think I’m worse than Carter?”
“I…”
Nathan fell silent.
