“Honey, is George…” Ruby started carefully.

Liam replied, “It’s so obvious. Can’t you tell?”

She wasn’t a fool, nor a stranger to love. How could she not pick up on those instinctive gestures?

The last thing they wanted was for Rhea to be dragged into another messy entanglement.

He didn’t think it was time to judge yet.

The doctors took Rhea inside for exams, leaving everyone else outside.

Given the entourage, it was clear that they weren’t ordinary people. Security stood at a distance, blocking anyone from approaching and disturbing Rhea’s treatment.

“Mr. and Mrs. Ravelle, don’t worry. Rhea hasn’t been sick much since she was a child. I’m sure she’ll be fine,” Liora reassured Liam and Ruby.

Ruby said, “It’s because she hardly ever gets sick that when she does, it’s always serious.”

That was what made Liam and Ruby so worried. Otherwise, no matter how cherished Rhea was, a simple fever wouldn’t have sent the whole family to spring into action.

George silently stood by the ER doors, waiting. His expression alone betrayed just how worried he

was.

“George,” Liam called out.

George looked up and stepped over. “Yes, Mr. Ravelle.”

George’s gaze was cold and detached. His tall frame exuded a quiet dominance.

When the wheelchair stopped, Carter asked, “Liam, Ruby, was that Rhea who just went in?”

He was actually addressing them by their first names?

Even Liora blinked in disbelief. She couldn’t believe how shameless Carter could get. After everything that had happened between him and Rhea, he still had the nerve to act like he was close to Liam and Ruby?

However, Liam didn’t even flinch. He replied politely, “Yes.”

Carter frowned. “What happened?”

“She has a fever,” Liam replied. “Didn’t she tell you?”
