Compared to their annoyance over the banner ruining the display, the foreigners clearly cared more about whether the banner’s message was true.
Kate swallowed hard, feeling anxious and humiliated. After a heartbeat, she said, “No, I’m not Kate
Pearson.”
Cynthia frowned but didn’t say anything. The staff member continued looking for “Kate” and the person behind the banner.
In the distance, Rudy asked in a low voice, “This is eye–catching enough, right, Mr. Whitfield?”
“It’s not bad,” Seamus said.
His goal was to distance Cynthia from Kate. If he were to go up to Cynthia and tell her the truth, he knew that she wouldn’t believe him. On the contrary, she would be resistant to him. After all, he still didn’t know what exactly Kate wanted to use Cynthia for.
As expected, Cynthia instinctively took a step away from Kate. It wasn’t for any other reason aside from Kate still being in mourning for Evie. She thought that it was indeed inappropriate for Kate to stay there with her.
Cynthia knew she couldn’t let Kate continue to travel and sightsee with her, as it would invite gossip
and criticism.
As the whispers around them grew louder, Cynthia said in a low voice, “Kate, maybe you should
return to Dalea ahead of plan. I’m fine here, and you should be worried about your father being alone.

How could Kate leave? She needed to burrow her way past Cynthia’s defenses so she could make her suspect George and hate Rhea!
She looked around for Seamus, thinking that he had to be behind this!
Still, she knew that it was inappropriate for her to stay. She had no choice but to lead Cynthia out of
the flower field.
Unexpectedly, the banner was tied to two drones on either end. Wherever Kate went, the drones followed, holding the banner above her.
Beneath it, Kate’s shoulders shook. Meanwhile, Cynthia felt increasingly ashamed.
In that instant, everyone visiting the flower fields understood what was happening–Kate was the evil woman mentioned in the banner! She had betrayed her best friend and hurt two children!
Foreigners weren’t familiar with the concept of observing a mourning period, so they didn’t pay

much attention to that part of the banner. However, some Daleans explained it to them. “It means that she’s out traveling and having fun even though her mother hasn’t been gone for long.”
Suddenly, a voice rang out, exclaiming in Albish, “I know what happened! That lady’s mother jumped off a building and took her own life because of her, yet here she is, having the time of her life!

Even if foreigners didn’t understand mourning customs, they still knew about the importance of respecting one’s parents. And so, with that person’s words, everyone turned to give Kate, who was still beneath the banner, odd looks.
