said.

Rudy wanted to clap, but he knew that it wasn’t the right place. Seamus‘ tongue was as sharp as always!

Kate was as white as a sheet, and she swayed on her feet. Her eyes slowly reddened as she asked, “Are those words from you or from George?”

“If he were the one in this situation, he probably wouldn’t even have opened the door. A fish rots from the head down–with genes like yours, who would dare marry you? Your refined manners are your armor, and your stable demeanor is your camouflage…”

Seamus took a step forward and leaned in slightly, murmuring, “In truth, you’re rotten on the inside. You reek of the stench only a corpse would carry. It’s nauseating and despicable.”

Kate slapped him hard across the face, and the crisp sound rang out loud and clear. Her carefully constructed facade crumbled.

No one had ever described her that way before. No one!

Years of hiding behind a mask had convinced Kate that she was a refined lady. Grace, poise, attentiveness, and intelligence were her labels.

Yet Seamus had crossed her bottom line.

Seamus was taken aback for a split second after being slapped. Then, he shouted hysterically, “Call the cops! Get the police! I want to sue her!”

Everyone was stunned, especially Kate. She froze on the spot.

The police soon arrived. Cynthia didn’t come out to see what was going on despite the commotion. Maybe it was because she had barely slept for the past two days, or maybe she didn’t want to get involved because she knew that the area wasn’t the safest. Either way, she didn’t appear.

Meanwhile, Kate watched as Seamus pulled off a performance worthy of an award. He squeezed out tears as he wailed to the foreign police. “I depend on my face for a livelihood, officer! It was with this face that I defeated all those ugly creatures in my workplace and caught the eye of my brilliant, wise boss! It’s how I got to where I am today!”

Rudy was speechless as he watched the performance.

“But she attacked my handsome face! She’s practically cutting off my income, crushing my

confidence, and trampling on my dignity! It’s murder without a trace, officer! I want to sue her!”

The police officers were bewildered by Seamus‘ silver tongue; they barely understood what he meant. However, they picked up on his last remark–he wanted to sue Kate.

“Come with us, please.” The police led them out.

Seamus changed into a suit before leaving. When he got to the door, he said to Rudy, “Add one more thing to the banner–‘assaulted a handsome man‘.”

Kate couldn’t believe her ears. She felt like she had been struck by lightning. She had slapped someone for the first time in her life, and she was unfortunate enough to have done it to Seamus. She wholly regretted what she’d done.

At the police station, a female officer asked, “Do you two know each other?”
