Chapter 439
Liam smiled and said, “Alright. Damian heard that you were going and immediately arranged a project director position for you. You must perform well and deliver results. Make sure that no one thinks you’re just riding on family influence and that you genuinely possess valuable skills.
“If anyone gives you trouble, handle it with reason and evidence. And if someone bullies you without cause, confront them. You’ve got me backing you.”
The warmth in his words filled Rhea’s heart. It felt almost like that day when she was about to leave for college.
No matter how old she got, in Liam’s eyes, she would always be his little girl, whom he worried about.
Rhea got up, walked around the desk, and hugged Liam. “Dad, I won’t make you worry anymore.”
Liam patted her arm. “Later, Solaris will send you the team roster. You’ll manage your own team.”
Solaris Ventures was different from other companies.
The company was made up of numerous project teams, each with its own members and responsible for global investment projects. But there were only two project directors–one domestic and one
international.
Rhea was basically a nepotism hire, stepping straight into the role. Naturally, people might gossip.
Liam didn’t want Rhea to feel upset because of that, so he gave her a heads–up.
That said, he didn’t doubt her ability. He knew exactly what she was capable of.
Even if luck wasn’t on her side, Liam and Nathan could ensure that she had good projects to work on.
“Okay. Don’t worry. I’ll do my best,” Rhea said.
“And what are you going to do about you and George?” Liam asked.
Rhea lowered her gaze. “There’s no rush with that, Dad.”
Having just divorced, she thought that jumping straight into marriage felt too hasty. Although she didn’t oppose the idea of an engagement, she hadn’t mentioned it to her parents yet.
That evening, Rhea video–called George to let him know about the new job.
“Which company?” he asked, frowning.
“Solaris Ventures.”
“I know. Damian Frost is the CEO.” Of course George knew.

Solaris Ventures was also an investment firm, but it wasn’t a rival of Evercorn Capital. In fact, in past years, they often worked together on promising projects. After all, Solaris Ventures was ultimately a foreign company, so they stayed in their own lanes. Collaboration came naturally.
“When are you going? Do you need to be in the office every day? Do you have a driver or assistant arranged? Will there be frequent business trips?” George asked in rapid succession.
Not only that, but the moment he heard about Rhea’s new job, he started thinking about any promising projects he had on hand. If there were any, he could pass them to her to help her settle in quickly.
Rhea laughed. “You sound like my mom.”
George’s frown deepened. “You think I’m nagging too much?”
“Not at all. I’m just happy that you care,” she said, lying on the bed. “I’ll handle all the arrangements. And yes, there will be trips. You and Nathan go on business trips anyway.”
George didn’t like that idea. Trips meant that he couldn’t see her whenever he wanted.
But he knew better than to stop her from working. Rhea wasn’t the type to depend on a man or her family. It had only been recent events that had kept her from pursuing work.
