Penelope had so many grandchildren that it took her a moment to remember which one Kendall

Penelope shot Kendall a sharp look. She would have been grateful if Angie Kramer hadn’t messed things up. There was no way she could help Rhea.

“Angie! Come here!”

Angie had just been wandering around outside. She was dazzled by the grandeur of the place and the handsome young men who surrounded her.

At her mother’s call, she hurried over.

“Go say hi to your grandma first,” Kendall instructed.

Angie smiled brightly at Penelope. “Hi, Grandma!”

Penelope returned the smile, asked a few simple questions, and offered some advice. With her grandchildren, she had a softer side and genuinely wanted them to do well.

“Behave yourselves,” she said before walking away.

“Mom, did you tell Grandma and Aunt Ruby? I really want to stay here.” Angie tugged on Kendall’s hand, pouting.

The place was so luxurious, and there were many hot, rich men around. She also wanted to marry

into wealth.

Besides, it seemed like no big deal. With a house this size, she was sure that the Ravelles could spare a room for her. And Ruby, being her aunt, could definitely help her meet a suitable family.

Kendall reassured Angie, “Don’t worry. I’ll talk to Ruby about it.”

She had two daughters. Angie, the younger one, had just graduated a little over a year ago and didn’t have a stable job. So when Kendall heard about the engagement party, she was determined to send Angie to Draventh and secure a wealthy match.

Hearing Kendall’s promise, Angie was thrilled.

For the rest of the event, she kept her gaze wandering around the room.

Angie had heard that he was a CEO, which meant that Rhea would be a CEO’s wife. Angie wanted that kind of life, too.

The moment she checked the caller ID, her expression darkened. She slipped outside the Ravelle residence to take the call.

“I told you, we’re over! Don’t call me again!” Angie’s tone was firm. She was aiming for the high life in Draventh. A regular college guy was nothing to her now.

After hanging up, she turned around, only to be startled. “You…”

“Hi. You’re… Rhea’s cousin, right?”

“Who are you?” Angie squinted. The woman looked familiar, but she couldn’t place her.

“I’m Kate Pearson, Rhea’s friend. When I came by yesterday, they were having a family dinner, so I didn’t get a chance to give my gift. I see there are quite a few people inside, so I won’t be going in. Could you help me pass this gift to Rhea?” Kate’s voice was gentle.

Angie froze. She wondered if this was the woman Rhea had supposedly stolen George from.

The rumors had already twisted the story. Everyone assumed that Rhea had meddled in the Snider- Pearson engagement and taken George for herself.

Angie felt a mix of resentment and outrage. She thought that it was utterly unfair for Rhea to swoop

in and steal someone like that.

Kate was reportedly the daughter of a scholarly, prestigious family, known for her kind nature. Even after Rhea had stolen her man and her engagement, she could still send a gift and offer her blessings without holding a grudge.
