After saying that, Camilla turned and left. The translation team’s work area fell completely silent.

Five minutes later, Kate finally asked Gisselle, “Who was that?”

Gisselle didn’t reply verbally but sent her a message instead. “She’s Camilla Hurst, the leader of the translation team.”

It appeared that the translation team had a leader.

Kate hadn’t seen Camilla when she had started work and had almost assumed that no one supervised the team.

“Then why hasn’t she shown up these past few days?” Kate quietly asked.

Gisselle messaged again. “She was out on a business trip with Mr. Frost.”

That explained it.

Thinking of Camilla’s stern, unyielding expression, Kate figured she’d be even better than Annie at giving Rhea a hard time.

She got up and went to the pantry. Opening her personal cabinet, she took out some expensive coffee beans and poured some into a cup.

Then, she patiently waited for Camilla to return.

Soon, Camilla appeared, following behind Damian and Eden.

From a distance, Kate saw Damian and immediately returned to the translation team work area.

She didn’t go back to her desk, though. She deliberately stood upright in the corridor, waiting for

Damian to notice her.

Upon hearing the hurried footsteps, the translation team members all knew who was coming. They pretended to be busy, but their attention was on the approaching figures.

Out of the corner of their eyes, they noticed Damian walking briskly with Eden and Camilla without glancing at anyone.

Only Eden gave Kate a faint, gentle smile.

Kate felt a breeze sweep past, and her gaze stiffened.

Damian… didn’t recognize her?

Connor had asked Sawyer to bring her into Damian’s company, so she should have been introduced

Kate turned back to her desk.

Gisselle remarked, “I thought you were going to greet Mr. Frost.”

Everyone knew Damian was friends with Sawyer, whom Kate had mentioned was her boyfriend. Naturally, they should know each other.

Kate tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and lowered her gaze. “He probably didn’t notice me, and it’s work hours anyway.”

She projected a professional demeanor.

Noticing that, Gisselle grew even more fond of her.

Kate had never put on airs, so why was Rhea acting so grandiose?

About 20 minutes later, footsteps approached again. This time, Damian stopped and scanned every person in the translation team.

Everyone instinctively assumed that he was looking for Kate.

Gisselle immediately said, “Mr. Frost, Kate’s over here!”

Kate was nudged to stand. She smiled politely and greeted, “Mr. Frost.”

Everyone watched.

Damian looked puzzled, wondering who had said that he was looking for her. He gave Kate a calm glance and then looked away, continuing his search.

Finally, his gaze landed on Heidi. “From today onward, you’ll be Ms. Hurst’s assistant. Learn from her closely.”

Heidi had previously stepped in for Camilla on a translation task and performed very well. Damian had remembered that.

Camilla had only just brought it up, and Damian personally made the appointment. It was clear how much he appreciated effort.

Heidi stood, bewildered. “I–I will, Mr. Frost!”

The rest of the team frowned.

Heidi’s appointment as Camilla’s assistant meant that she now had a clear path for promotion. If
