Even Annie had given Kate a hard time? How could that be? Hadn’t they just had dinner together the other day?
Someone murmured, “Ms. Levy was the one who gave Kate the mail. She asked her to have it translated by the next morning. That’s just…”
Annie was clearly making things difficult for Kate. They had all overlooked it before.
Now, with both Annie and Camilla giving Kate trouble, the team couldn’t help but think of one explanation. They figured that it had to be under orders from Rhea.
That was pure workplace tyranny!
“You can’t just swallow this, Kate. Our company doesn’t allow this kind of bullying. You can just tell Mr. Frost. Your boyfriend knows him, too, right?”
“Exactly! If she uses her position to push you around, you can use your connections to push back.”
Kate shook her head. “Forget it. I don’t want to cause more trouble. I’ll just endure it.”
Her wounded tone made the other women, who were accustomed to expressing themselves openly abroad, shift uncomfortably.
Kate no longer dared mention Rhea’s name casually.
She kept wondering how Camilla had known about all those conversations in the first place. Did she have an informant inside the translation team? Who could it be?
Her gaze drifted across the elevator full of colleagues and finally settled on Heidi.
“Heidi, before I went into the office earlier, Ms. Hurst wasn’t scolding you, was she?” Kate asked lightly,
Everyone turned to look at Heidi.
Heidi turned around, her gaze innocent. “No, she was just giving me instructions for my work.”
Heidi had been made Camilla’s assistant, after all.
“I see. I thought maybe our voices were too loud earlier, and Ms. Hurst misunderstood. When she brought up what we’d discussed, I was caught off guard for a moment.” Kate smiled.
What was that supposed to mean?
Everyone turned to Heidi again.

Kate was also watching Heidi, a faint smile playing on her lips.
To her shock, Heidi nodded and said, “Ms. Hurst asked me what people have been gossiping about lately, and I told her.”
Gisselle nearly jumped out of her skin. “Why would you say that?”
Heidi blinked in confusion. “Gossip isn’t some kind of trade secret. Why wouldn’t I?”
To her, it had nothing to do with company interests. No one had committed any crime. They had just been chatting casually.
But her simple question left Gisselle speechless. She couldn’t lash out, but the frustration simmered
inside her.
That was because Heidi was right. They hadn’t talked about sensitive information or business secrets. They had simply gossiped about the new director.
One of the women frowned. “The employee handbook literally says that there should be no gossiping about colleagues‘ private lives. Why would you tell Ms. Hurst?”
Heidi’s gaze grew even clearer, with a hint of puzzlement. “If gossip isn’t allowed, why bring it the first place?”
