"I developed a crush on George years ago. But when I learned that he was in love with Rhea, jealousy consumed me. So, I reached out to Rhea's ex-husband, hoping that they'd get back together. "I did all of this to hurt her. I wanted to drive a wedge between her and George. I messed with George's relationship with his mother; I even poisoned those two kids. And recently, I've been badmouthing Rhea behind her back at Solaris Ventures and turning our colleagues against her. These are all things I've done."

Getting it all out at once made Kate feel like a weight had been lifted off her chest. Even her heart felt lighter.

She hadn't fallen for Sawyer, of course. She just didn't want to lie to someone like him—someone who was willing to comfort her and let her lean on him.
