Nathan was the heir to one of the most powerful families in Draventh. Just because she knew George, Rhea thought she could act on impulse like this. Carter felt that she was being way too reckless.

“Apologies, Mr. Ravelle. My wife and I have some disagreements. I didn’t expect her to drag you into this. Please, let me cover dinner tonight as an apology.” Carter remained calm and composed.

Nathan was nothing like George. He dressed like a gentleman, but his gaze was sharp.

He stared directly at Carter, smiled, and asked, “Oh? What sort of disagreement?”

Lauren stepped forward, as if she were sacrificing herself for the greater good. “Rhea’s a little impulsive. She lied and said you were part of her family just to spite Carter. This is completely out of line.”

Nathan narrowed his eyes, and his gaze shifted to Rhea as if to say, “This is the man you were so desperate to marry?”

Nathan didn’t move a single muscle. “Ms. Thayer, right?”

Lauren was surprised. “Yes. It’s an honor, Mr. Ravelle.”

Nathan asked calmly, “So this was supposed to be a family dinner?”

Lauren nodded quickly. “That’s right. Rhea’s being extremely disrespectful, but we couldn’t deceive you. I assume that she told you it was some kind of business dinner?”

She hoped that Nathan would confirm that Rhea had tricked him into coming. However, Nathan’s expression turned dangerously cold.

He looked toward the private room’s dedicated attendant. “Bring me the manager. Since when does this place let just anyone in without checking their assets?”

Upon hearing that, Lauren assumed that he was talking about Rhea.

Carter quickly said, “This is on me. I should’ve taught her better.” Then he turned to Rhea and shot her a look. ” Aren’t you going to step out now?”

He wasn’t intimidated by Nathan or George in the business world. After all, they operated in separate regions and their businesses didn’t interfere with each other.

However, he still felt that it wasn’t wise to offend them.

If Carter wanted to move Jamison Group’s headquarters to Draventh in the future, he might very well need Nathan’s help.

However, Rhea didn’t move. Instead, she pulled out a chair and sat down.

Lauren looked a little anxious. She reached out to pull her up and whispered urgently, “Rhea, why are you sitting? This isn’t your place. Get up,”

Carter’s fury burned hotter by the second. He found Rhea increasingly out of line. He thought that she had no
