Chapter 419 Kylie’s Wedding Dress

Nadine was excited and started making plans.

But Kylie cut her off. “They don’t need any of this.”

She led Nadine back to the dressing room.

The vanity was mostly empty.

Kylie frowned and opened the wardrobe.

Most of her favorite dresses were gone, leaving only a few plain ones she wore all the time.

She suddenly remembered. Some time ago, Henry had said he sold a lot of their belongings to save the company from financial trouble. These were what she had brought over from Krigan. Two of them were dresses she’d brought from home back then, gifts her family had gotten her for her coming–of–age ceremony.

Kylie’s face instantly darkened.

She knew Henry had sold her stuff, but she hadn’t made a big deal of it back then. After that, she’d only worn simple clothes at home and hadn’t been back in the wardrobe. She was shocked to see it so empty today.

Nadine noticed Kylie’s expression and quickly closed the wardrobe. “Dad really messed up! The company was in big trouble, but he shouldn’t have gone this far. Mom, I’ll talk to him when I get back to the office tomorrow. Once the business is doing well again, I’ll refill it with the latest styles!”

Kylie pressed her lips together but said nothing. Listening to Nadine’s sweet talk, she didn’t get upset.

She looked at the empty wardrobe and angrily closed it again.

Then, she silently walked upstairs to the top floor.

Nadine followed and immediately noticed the only piece of furniture standing in the middle of the empty space–a wooden cabinet.

“Nadine, can you ship something for me?” Kylie’s voice was soft, almost dreamy.

Nadine couldn’t hide her excitement, her eyes fixed on the cabinet.

So this must be the insanely expensive wedding dress Dad was talking about!

“Just tell me, Mom!”

Kylie touched the cabinet’s handle, and she tried to brush off the dust, but the surface was exceptionally clean and slick.

She frowned slightly and looked at her hand.

Her skin was clean, with not a speck of dust.

She was puzzled.

Hardly anyone ever came to the top floor–not even her.

She quickly opened the cabinet and let out a long breath when she saw the wedding dress hanging inside.

Thank goodness.

If Henry had dared to sell this dress too, she would’ve gone after him without holding back!

At least he knew how important this dress was to her and left it alone.

Kylie felt a little better.

Looking at the flawless, white wedding dress, Kylie felt a rush of complicated emotions.

Nadine’s eyes widened as she opened the cabinet.

Now I see why Dad couldn’t stop talking about this insanely expensive dress.

The lighting there wasn’t great, but the tiny diamonds on the dress still sparkled.

“Help me ship this dress. I’ll give you the address in a bit,” Kylie said, gently touching the dress.

She had been thrilled to try it on back then, but she never wore it to walk down the aisle at the wedding she’d dreamed of.

She couldn’t take her eyes

off it.

Nadine’s voice edged with worry. “This dress is so expensive and beautiful. You’re going to ship it away?”

Dad said it was worth 300 million dollars. Shipping it means giving 300 million to someone else!

She looked anxiously at Kylie, but Kylie looked calm, as if lost in a distant memory.

Kylie pulled her gaze away and quickly closed the door.

She turned to Nadine, her tone firm. “Yes, ship it.”

Nadine stood still, her expression dark. “This is so expensive. Maybe I should talk to Dad about it at the company first?”
