Chapter 421 Nadine Wasn’t in Henry’s Escape Plan
That was 400 million! Even a regular rich family wouldn’t just hand over that kind of money!
Shannon frowned, clearly not agreeing.
“Hahaha!” Henry chuckled, lightly tapping her forehead.
Shannon was different from Kylie–sometimes she acted so cute and clueless, it made his heart skip a beat.
He explained, “The Larsons told everyone that they cut ties with Kylie years ago. And I’m the son–in–law they never liked. I couldn’t get close even if I wanted to. Luckily, Nadine chatted with Kylie today, and that reminded her to contact the Larsons.”
He smiled smugly that his plan was working. But in his downcast eyes, there was a hint of
resentment.
Nadine’s words reminded Kylie of the Larsons, and now she was secretly reaching out. He knew Kylie probably never fully accepted him anyway.
Henry clenched his fists tightly.
Shannon half–understood, but she was still secretly hurting over losing the 400 million dollar wedding dress.
Seeing her worry, Henry patted her shoulder to reassure her. “Relax. Think about it. The Larsons gave away 400 million just for that dress. If I can get close and make a huge profit, that’s easily multiple times, or even ten times, that 400 million.”
Hearing that, Shannon finally looked a bit relieved.
She shot Henry an annoyed glance, then obediently snuggled into his arms.
“So do I have to help her ship the wedding dress tomorrow, Dad?”
Nadine, listening to Henry just now, was also thrilled.
The Embers were in deep trouble now, way worse off than before. If she could get even a few of those 400 million Henry mentioned, her life would change completely.
“Yeah, go help her ship it. And spend more time with her these days, keep her happy, do whatever she asks.” Henry nodded. His eyes narrowed with calculation. “Oh, and remember the address she gives you. Please, let me know.”

Nadine nodded eagerly.
Henry suddenly remembered something and turned to her. “How’s work at the company going lately?”
He decided not to take Nadine when he and Shannon left. But since she was their daughter, he might leave her the messy Ember Group.
She wasn’t like Shannon or Kaleb. She grew up with him, living a better life at the Ember Residence than Tess, the “real” heiress. He owed her nothing–leaving her the company was enough.
That’s why he’d been running between the company and the apartment lately–to get Nadine to spend more time at the company and learn the business.
“The managers in a few departments praised my work.”
Nadine grabbed Henry’s arm, shaking it sweetly. “But, Dad, what’s our next move? Tess promised the media she’d clarify things in a few days, and it’s been two days.”

She quickly changed the topic, her eyes flickering nervously.
The truth? She sucked at everything, from school to work. That little brag? Totally made up.
Henry didn’t notice her reaction. He focused on her words and scoffed. “She’s just trying to buy time. Why else would she be completely silent until now?”
Nadine nodded. Her anxiety was gone.
The next day.
Nadine went to Ember Villa first thing in the morning. When she arrived, Kylie was watering flowers in the garden.
Since Henry moved out, the villa felt empty.
“Nadine? Why are you here so early?”
