Chapter 77 A Taste of Their Own Medicine
Christopher had only said that in the heat of the moment. Now that he had cooled down, he realized he had been a little too rash. After all, the Lidells‘ partnership with Duran Corporation had been signed on by Nancy herself. Thus, he turned to Nancy.
Nancy simply shook her head.
Christopher knew what to do next.
“Our collaboration ends here, Mr. Liddell. I’d suggest you take care of yourself,” Christopher said coldly. He then turned and left with Mirella.
Andrew was fuming inside.
As the crowd dispersed and the onlookers lost interest, Regina quickly stepped forward to comfort him. “Darling…”
“Just look at the fine son and daughter you’ve raised!” he snapped.
“I…” Regina knew the two of them had gone too far. “I’ll have a word with them later. But what about our contracts with Duran Corporation?”
“Christopher won’t budge,” Andrew said grimly.
“Then forget it. It’s not like we can’t survive without them.”
“Do you think things are still like before?” Andrew shot her a cold look. “I don’t know why, but every company that used to work with us has refused to renew the contracts with us
recently.
“That’s especially true for Sunlight Corporation. They used to give us the lowest fabric prices, but they’ve now cut us off completely. We’ll have to buy from other suppliers at much higher cost. Our profit margins are shrinking fast.”
Regina noticed the new strands of white in his hair and finally began to sense the urgency of
the situation.
Her gaze shifted to Nancy, who stood not too far away. “Wait. Isn’t Nancy with Duran Corporation? Maybe she could put in a good word for us?”
“Would she?”
“She’s our daughter. Why wouldn’t she?” Regina said as she walked over to Nancy.
Nancy didn’t so much as glance her way. She simply grabbed two new servings of steaks and walked away.

Regina was forced to call out to her, “Nancy!”
“Do you need something, Mrs. Lidell?” Nancy’s tone was icy as she regarded Regina.
Regina’s chest tightened at her tone. “Nancy, I’m still your mother. Why are you treating me so coldly?”
Nancy let out a humorless laugh. “Isn’t this just giving you a taste of your own medicine?”
“I’ve been trying to make it up to you, but look at how you treat the Lidells,” Regina said. ” Nancy, we’re family. Do you really have to be like this?”
“If you have something to say, just spit it out.”
Regina hesitated before she spoke. “Mr. Wentworth has cut ties with the Lidells. We
desperately need that deal with him. I want you to persuade him.”
