Kim Donghu vs. Zain Lance
The match was set.
The news spread like wildfire across the globe. But not everyone was thrilled about it.
“What do you mean he’s doing it?! What if he gets hurt? What if something happens?!”
“Do you think Donghu Kim’s body belongs to just him?! That’s the body of DC’s next leading hero!”
“Goddamn it! That idiot—wasn’t Choi Seokho supposed to stop this?!”
“What if he takes a hit to the back of the head?! What if the worst happens?!”
“The injury risk alone makes this insane!”
The first to panic:
Warner Bros., freshly seated on a throne of gold thanks to Kim Donghu.
“He’s too young! Too full of fire! You can’t predict what he’ll do!”
Of course, they believed he’d win.
They knew he’d fight well.
Odds be damned—they were ready to bet their entire fortune on Donghu Kim.
But still—
“I JUST DON’T WANT HIM TO GET HURT!!!”
They couldn’t ignore even the slimmest possibility.
So—
“It’s gotta be a hoax, right? Maybe White Boss just leaked it!”
“What if the boxing associations are lying too?!”
They tried to deny it.
“It’s confirmed. The athletes themselves have agreed to the match.”
“Aaaaaaaaagh!”
Life was brutal.
“Athlete?! Why is Donghu Kim being called an athlete?! He’s an actor—no, a hero!”
“He’s BATMAN. BATMAN, dammit!”
Honestly, when Donghu was still doing Tarzan, people had praised the exposure he got through boxing. Some even complained Disney didn’t push it hard enough.
“We didn’t know, okay? We didn’t know it would come to this!”
“How could we have guessed our lead actor would step into the ring?!”
“Donghu Kim isn’t just a lead actor! Not just a lead actor!”
“Without him, every roadmap we’re drawing—all of it’s meaningless. You know that, right?”
Now that it was their problem, they deeply regretted mocking Disney back then. They should’ve stopped him for the sake of actor safety. And this wasn’t Tarzan anymore—the stakes were so much higher.
Of course—
“Should we at least suggest he not take the match?”
“Are you out of your fucking mind?! What kind of studio interferes with a star’s personal life?!”
“You think this is how we handle rookies?!”
They couldn’t even hint at telling him no.
“Don’t even imply it. Unless he brings it up first, shut your mouth.”
“You so much as suggest something like this? Boom—blown to pieces.”
“Being nice? Sure, great. Everyone loves how kind Donghu Kim is—but that’s exactly why we need to keep him liking us.”
Treat him well when he treats you well. Mess it up, and you’ll ruin what you had.
Warner Bros. had no intention of making that mistake.
Dare to tell the star what to do?
If Kim Donghu even felt offended and pulled out of the contract?
Rejected Murciélago sequels?
“Offer more—just raise the stakes.”
“Excuse me?”
“Carefully ask if he’d be willing to enter the ring wearing the Batsuit. We have to do something.”
“...Understood.”
Supporting him was the only option.
And every brand was in the same boat.
“Are you nuts? Who even thought of suggesting to Donghu Kim not to fight?!”
“Scrap it. Cancel the plan. Chairman’s orders.”
“If our muse wants to fight, we’re not just going to support him—we’ll create a limited edition Louis Vuitton Batsuit.”
“What about a fighter’s watch? Something special to honor the match. It’ll sell like crazy.”
Everyone knew MMA was dangerous. But none of them dared say a word.
The only people who might stop him?
“Kim Donghu’s fucking crazy!”
...Would be the people closest to him.

“You won’t listen even if I tell you not to do it, will you?”
“I want to do it. I have to try.”
“Fine... but is Sujin with you right now?”
“Yeah, you can hear her voice?”
“She’s hilarious. Told me she wouldn’t go watch... said it was impossible... and then showed up at your place because she missed you—"
“W-What the hell?! Are you insane?!”
Tap tap tap tap tap!
Sujin, flustered, kept mashing the call-end button.
Then—
Glance.
She looked at me.
“I mean... I support you, I really do. But the idea of you getting hurt... it just makes me feel...”
She nervously hid her face behind her pigtails.
“I don’t want to say dumb stuff like, ‘Can’t you just not fight and let me backhug you like in some shoujo manga?’”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah... I mean, we’re grown now.”
She quietly snuggled up beside me.
“But sometimes I do think... if you got hurt, it’d really break my heart. So part of me wants to scream don’t do it!”
“So instead you scream you’re insane!?”
“Duh! What, you want me to throw a tantrum instead?”
“Honestly? I’d kinda like to see that.”
“Hah. And if I did, you’d stop?”
“Nope, I’d still go.”
“You’re insane!”
Streeeetch.
Sujin grabbed my cheek and pulled.
Then—
“But hey.”
“Hm?”
“Why is she here?”
She pointed at Chisako lounging on the couch.
“Oh, we got close after the Batman shoot. She just drops by sometimes.”
“To Korea? Here?”
“She said I could come whenever I had no schedule!”
