Harry thought Rachel must be out of her mind.

But when he remembered that Rachel wasn’t in good health, he held himself back and turned a

deaf ear to her words.

After sending Rachel home, Harry instructed Adrian to investigate what had happened to Catherine that day. Yet the four kidnappers had vanished without a trace. All he knew was that Catherine was abducted, but as for who was behind it, there was no way to find out.

Harry then went to the hospital.

Seeing Michelle’s pale face, he softened his tone. “I had your lawsuit against Catherine

withdrawn.”

“Why would you do that? She wanted to kill me!” Michelle sat up in agitation, pulling at her wound and crying out in pain.

Harry hurried over and steadied her. “If you want compensation, you can name it. Forget about filing a lawsuit against her.”

Michelle looked at him with grief in her eyes. “I don’t want anything. I only want Catherine to face the consequences. Is that too much to ask?”

“The Quinn and Zimmerman families have been close for generations. Even if I do nothing, my family won’t leave her to fend for herself. You should understand the bind I’m in,” Harry explained patiently.

Tears rolled down Michelle’s cheeks as she grumbled, “So am I supposed to just let things

slide?”

Harry let out a sigh. “You know my parents favor Catherine. If you insist on sending her to prison, it’ll never happen.”

Michelle clenched her fists and recalled what Catherine had said.

Even without Harry, Catherine had the entire Zimmerman family backing her.

If she kept going after Catherine, they would only despise her more.

Since Michelle wanted to marry into the Zimmerman family, she had no choice but to swallow her anger.

“I know. I won’t let Catherine hurt you again,” he promised in a gentle tone.

Logically, he should’ve felt bad for Michelle. Yet for some reason, all he could see in his mind were Catherine’s cool, distant eyes.

Meanwhile, Catherine returned to the company.

Many had seen the police take her away, and when she came back, she met curious and suspicious stares.

She ignored them and went straight to Caleb’s office.

Seeing her return so soon, Caleb stood up at once and asked, “Why are you back so quickly?”

Catherine countered, “What’s the matter, Mr. Warren? Would you rather I didn’t come back?”

“Of course not. I was hoping you’d return quickly. It’s good that you’re fine.” He smiled.
