Chapter 64 Marrying Jeremy While Carrying My Child

Catherine’s mind went blank. Her whole body tensed the instant Harry stepped back into the

room.

He meant to console her, but what came out dripped with sarcasm. “Relax. I’ll let you keep the child in your belly.”

Lifting her gaze, Catherine drew a sharp line with her steady voice. “This child is mine. It has nothing to do with you.”

Harry closed the distance between them, towering over her. “You wouldn’t be pregnant

me, would you? The child will bear the Zimmerman name and be entered into the family lineage.”

without me,

Catherine’s hands balled into fists, and her face went pale. She had suspected all along that

once he discovered the truth, he would try to claim the child as his.

She hugged her knees tightly, curling into herself. “You can have other children. But I can’t give you this one.”

When people did that, it was often a subconscious way of seeking protection in moments of

stress.

Catherine was clearly shutting him out.

Harry’s face darkened. “So, where do you plan on going with my child? To marry Jeremy? Catherine, stop deluding yourself!”

Her breath caught, and she opened her mouth to respond just as the door swung open.

“I heard you two arguing…” It was Harry’s uncle, Tyson Zimmerson.

Trying to defuse the situation, he said gently, “Talk it over calmly. Cathy’s pregnant. Don’t upset her.”

The air in the room lightened slightly. Harry gave a short grunt. “Fine.”

Tyson turned to Catherine. “Harry can be a bit of a jerk. If he makes you unhappy, don’t hesitate to put him in his place.”

Harry’s face darkened at Tyson’s remark.

Catherine’s expression softened slightly as she thanked Tyson politely. He left soon after, looking relieved.

Harry couldn’t shake the feeling that Catherine had bewitched his family. Why else would they all take a liking to her?

The moment the door shut, the atmosphere in the room grew tense once more.

He had no intention of letting the child go. “You know better than anyone what the firstborn of the Zimmerman family means.”

Catherine stayed silent, her gaze unsteady.

Harry’s tone was firm. “Once the child is born, they’ll be brought into the Zimmerman household to be raised. You don’t need to concern yourself with anything else. Just live your life as you wish.”

The Zimmerman family had access to the best education and professional care. If Catherine’s company succeeded, she knew she wouldn’t have much time to spend with her child.

That was why leaving the child with the Zimmermans seemed like the best option.

Catherine’s fists tightened, and her knuckles turned white. She knew that if it came to a fight, she could never win against Harry.

Besides, he had already decided the child’s future the moment he learned of its existence without even bothering to ask her.

But then again, when did her opinion ever really matter?

Catherine slowly unclenched her fists and leaned back against the sofa, remaining silent for a long while. If she had known things would turn out this way, she would never have agreed to go with Rachel.

Seeing that she had gone quiet, Harry didn’t press further. “I’ll arrange for a nutritionist to look after you.”

“There’s no need for that,” Catherine refused softly.

Harry’s voice was cold and unyielding. “It’s not for you. It’s for the child you’re carrying. Don’t flatter yourself. You’re not that important.”

Catherine remained silent as she picked up her bag, ready to leave.
