My Death Countdown (by Netulla) novel Chapter 25

Chapter 25

The other half of Kiersten’s face swelled up instantly.

She knew that Adrien had already lost all sense of humanity, and no amount of explanation would make a difference now.

But she was unwilling–unwilling to die here just like this, unwilling to lose her life for someone she had only met a few times.

Under the threat of death, she didn’t know where the sudden burst of strength came from, but she broke free from his grip and began to struggle with him.

She too seemed to go mad, biting and tearing at his flesh while screaming at the top of her lungs.

“She killed herself, so why should I die with her? Why? It was her who couldn’t get over it, her who insisted on going her own way–what does that have to do with me?”

“I only told her the facts and the truth, exactly as they were. If it weren’t for me, she would have been kept in the dark by you her whole life! Her legs were broken, her life was ruined, and she would have been deceived by her cheating husband forever. Hahaha, how pathetic is that!”

“I was saving her, don’t you get it? If it weren’t for me, she would have kept suffering, kept listening to your disgust- ing lies. That would have been a life worse than death!”

Each word, sharp as an arrow, pierced through Adrien’s heart.

His mind went completely blank, leaving only her shrill screams echoing endlessly.

The hands that had been gripping her so tightly lost all strength, dropping limply as if broken.

Regaining her freedom, Kiersten knew her words had struck a nerve, and she became even more reckless.

“You say I killed her? Wrong, wrong! The one who killed Sylvia was you!”

“To her, what am I–a stranger she only met once? The person she truly hated was you, the one who lived with her day and night, the one who slept beside her!”

“It was you who changed, you who betrayed her, and that’s why she fell into utter despair and killed herself! You’re the real culprit, so why are you blaming it all on me?”

“Sylvia was just unlucky, giving up her legs for a scumbag like you, and then being stupid enough to commit suicide. Haha, the two of you really are a perfect match in madness!”

“Adrien, you flirt with me on one hand, and on the other, you can’t let go of your guilt! You drove your wife to her death but don’t dare admit it, and now you want to drag me down with you–what kind of man are you!”
