My Great Escape Led Me to You novel Chapter 71

Evan Foster listened to her voice, a low, amused chuckle rumbling from his chest.

“I like your fire. Just wait—you’ll stop fighting once you’ve had your fill.”

His grip was unyielding; Emily Blair couldn’t move a muscle, her wrists and ankles pinned as panic and despair swallowed her whole.

Tears welled in her eyes. “Please, I’m begging you. I can find you someone else.”

They were at the Moonlight Club, a place overflowing with every kind of woman imaginable.

“But I only want you.”

Evan’s hands pressed her wrists to the plush sofa, his gaze burning with possession—a desire Emily recognized all too well.

In her last life, Andrew Lane had always claimed to despise her, yet he was utterly addicted to her body.

He’d never let his emotions show so openly, not the way Evan did. But even then, Emily could sense Andrew’s longing, no matter how well he hid it.

Her thoughts scattered, heart pounding.

Back in the private lounge, Isabella Austin’s unease simmered beneath her polished exterior.

Others might not notice, but she saw it clear as day—something was off with Andrew Lane ever since Evan Foster had taken Emily away.

Rather than risk Andrew regretting his decision and fetching Emily himself, Isabella figured she’d seize the initiative. If she suggested bringing Emily back, she could showcase her own kindness and generosity before Andrew had the chance to reconsider.

If she waited and Andrew went after Emily out of guilt, she’d lose her window. Worse, if he started feeling sorry for Emily or developed any other tender feelings, Isabella wouldn’t even have a place to cry.

She slipped her arm into Andrew’s, her voice gentle, testing the waters. “Andrew, should we go get Emily back?”
