She sent Zoe away first and told her she’d move to the countryside with her as soon as she divorced Geoffrey.

The day Maureen was discharged, Sean was taken to the hospital by his grandfather Albert Robson to get familiar with the procedures. He accidentally saw Maureen and Gareth.

“Wasn’t she missing?”

She and Geoffrey were supposed to get divorced three days ago, that is, on the 15th of this month.

However, she disappeared that day and was nowhere to be found for three days.

“What’s she doing at the hospital?”

Since he wasn’t sure who the father of the baby was, he didn’t know whether he should tell Geoffrey about it.

At last, he called Andrea and told her everything.

He was indebted to Andrea, and she was all alone. Only he could help her.

After Maureen was discharged from the hospital, Gareth often visited to keep her company.

Her health had worsened because of the drugs.

The good thing was, she was in a better mood. Even when she lost her appetite, she’d make herself eat.

Gareth had never heard her mention Geoffrey again.

Sometimes, it hurt even to mention the beloved one’s name.

Or perhaps Maureen didn’t want her friend to get melancholy as she was.

When she was alone, she’d stare at Geoffrey’s WhatsApp profile photo for a long time.

She didn’t know how to mention the divorce again.

One day, Maureen shopped at the farmers‘ market.

She was about to go home when someone blocked her way.

“Reenie, does your mom know you’re alive?” Andrea feigned a smile.

Maureen didn’t expect to run into her here.

They came to a quiet coffeehouse and sat by the window.

The heavy rain splattered against the window.

Andrea took off the mask, and her pretty face showed. “Don’t worry. Sean says Adrian took Mr. Carter’s money and fled with your mom. They won’t make trouble for you again.”

Gareth had told Maureen the same thing.

According to the agreement, Maureen was supposed to marry into the Carter family, but she didn’t. Afraid that the Carter family would get back at them, Noelle and Adrian fled abroad the day she committed suicide.

Who would’ve thought the formerly filthy rich Ramirez family would be so embarrassed because of $50 million?
