Before she could finish, Alex forcefully pulled her into his arms, pressing a fiery kiss upon her.

Elizabeth never imagined the always gentle Alex could be so domineering.

Alex replied gently.

Hearing this, Maureen accepted the gift without further question.

Alex then turned to Geoffrey. “Brother, I’d like a private word.”

Geoffrey deliberately tugged Maureen’s hand in front of Alex, murmuring, “Wait for me.”

Not wanting to give Alex false hope, Maureen didn’t pull away.
