Shortly after Maureen left, on his way back, Alex saw Elizabeth standing not far away, her face full of anger.

Thinking about last night, a cold glint flashed in Alex’s eyes.

He walked over slowly without saying a word.

“Don’t you have anything to say to me?”

Elizabeth still hadn’t realized her place. She thought that in the Sutton Family, she would be pampered like a princess just like in her own family.

Alex retorted.

Elizabeth choked: “We’re engaged. I’m your fiancee. Why can’t I touch you?”

She cared about her pride and didn’t ask Alex about Maureen.

After all, if it came out that Alex liked Maureen, it would be her own face that was lost.

“Didn’t I say it?

After we get married.”

Alex’s tone was gentle but tinged with impatience.

Elizabeth clenched her hands: “You’re too conservative, aren’t you?”

Alex’s disgust for her reached its peak. Just then, his assistant Lisa called him.

He answered the phone, said a word, then soothed Elizabeth: “Whatever it is, we’ll talk when I get back.”

Elizabeth had no choice but to hold back her temper.

Elizabeth had wanted to move into the Sutton Family home, but Alex said his place was still being renovated. He told her to move in after the new house was done.

Alex watched Elizabeth’s car drive off before picking up his phone again. Lisa hadn’t called him at all.

Elizabeth lay unconscious in a dim room where several men stood around a camera.

Outside, a silver–gray car idled with Alex sitting motionless inside.

His subordinate cautiously asked: “Alex, is this wise?”

Elizabeth was still Alex’s publicly engaged fiancee. If these men actually gang raped her and Alex later regretted it, they’d all be dead.

Alex replied indifferently: “Perfectly fine. Disobedient dogs need discipline.”

Leaning back, he closed his striking eyes and signaled to proceed.

Blood–curdling screams soon tore through the shadowed room.

After what felt like ages, everything ceased. The men departed with the camera.

Some time passed before Alex emerged from the car, gesturing for his men to kick the door open.

Inside the room, Elizabeth was barely clothed, covered in bruises, her hair disheveled, no longer looking like the haughty young lady she once was.

When she saw someone enter, she instinctively trembled and cried out frantically, “Don’t come near, don’t come near!”

Alex quickly walked up to her, took off his coat and draped it over her, “Elizabeth, it’s me.”

His gentle voice instantly brought Elizabeth back to her senses. She looked up at Alex, hugged him tightly, tears streaming down, “Alex!”

Alex suppressed his disgust, didn’t push her away, but said to the person behind him:

“Take Miss Elizabeth to the hospital.”

Elizabeth came to her senses a bit, thought about what had happened, and upon hearing Alex say to go to the hospital, immediately refused, “I won’t go to the hospital, Alex, I won’t go to the hospital.”
