After hanging up the phone, Jacob looked serious.

He always knew about that awful grandmother of his. He heard she just came back recently, and not long after returning, she’s already causing trouble for Mom!

Jacob decided to go online tonight and dig up Noelle’s scandals.

He walked downstairs and was about to sit down when, as luck would have it, he saw Noelle and her current husband Raymond actually coming over with gifts.

Katherine was also in the living room. When she saw Noelle, she froze. Why was Maureen’s biological mother here?

She immediately got up and went over to Jacob.

“Jacob, Great–grandpa is going to discuss business. Let’s go play outside.”

But Albert flatly refused: “It’s fine. You and Jacob can come listen to business matters with me.”

Katherine knew Jacob was smart, but he was still just a kid. She didn’t expect Albert to involve him in business so soon. Not knowing what else to say, she sat down with them.

Jacob’s wise dark eyes looked in Noelle’s direction, and a cold smile rose within him. What a coincidence.

Even if Albert hadn’t said anything, he would have stayed.

Raymond and Noelle came specifically today to visit Albert, wanting to discuss a piece of land in the center of Karaville.

Albert was drinking tea and didn’t stand up to greet them.

Being an old hand in the business world, he had naturally looked into Raymond and Noelle, and their methods were extremely dirty.

“Katherine, do you remember Aunt Noelle?” she said sweetly. “You visited my home with Reenie during your college days.‘

“Of course I remember. I also recall you kicked us out that first visit, saying a nouveau riche daughter like me dared to climb the social ladder by befriending the Ramirez Family.”

Her smile didn’t reach her eyes.

Albert’s expression darkened instantly. He adored his future granddaughter–in–law. Authority radiated from him as he demanded, “Madam Davey. Katherine is my grandson’s fiancee. Is she beneath you?”

Noelle paled.

“This is all a misunderstanding! I’d never kick Katherine out!

She must be confused.”

“Perhaps my young mind is failing me,” Katherine remarked with biting sarcasm. “Unlike your elderly clarity.”

Noelle choked back her fury. That little bitch! she seethed inwardly. How dare she humiliate me before marrying into High Society? Just wait till the Robsons discard you.
