Chapter 84

That feeling was like wherever I ended up, that place became my temporary home.

Tomorrow was the anniversary of my parents’ death, and the day I planned to leave coincided with the company’s annual meeting.

Right now, I needed to find a way to gain my freedom. I couldn’t remain under Leland’s control.

Leland wanted me to transfer the company to Caitlyn, and I would not allow her to ruin my parents’ hard-earned legacy.

When I came out, I saw Leland’s eyes were red.

His assistant was giving a work report and nodded at me as I approached, then continued.

“Mr. Pearson, a lot of employees are upset about you choosing Ms. Hoffman for the vice president role. Plus, it was Ms. Barnett who first welcomed the new client. Switching the host to Ms. Perez now could really tick off them.”

Leland didn’t say anything but slowly stood up from his wheelchair, walked a few steps, started coughing severely, and then sat back down.

I didn’t feel any worry. Instead, seeing Leland in this state, I thought he deserved it.

Thinking about how he almost caused me to miscarry for Caitlyn, and their constant closeness, I controlled my trembling body and spoke.

Leland, I can transfer the company to Caitlyn, but I have to go to the company now. I need to properly hand over the new client I’m handling and the

work with Denise.”

This time, Leland didn’t stop me but replied coldly, “Since you can’t manage the group, don’t interfere with Caitlyn’s plans.
