Chapter 93
Had he been investigating me?
He couldn’t have found out about Allen, could he?
I had always erased all traces of my transfers.
Caitlyn whined, “But the shareholders are all on her side. It’s just not fair.”
Leland touched the ring on his finger, looking at me with a gentle gaze. He reached out as if to touch my head but then withdrew his hand.
After regaining his cold gaze, Leland spoke to Caitlyn,”All the assets are yours. She doesn’t have the capability to take them away.”
I took a deep breath and looked at Leland with a hint of anger.”I don’t love you anymore, Leland, so I won’t cry for you. You once told me that if you ever betrayed me in this life, you’d end up living in loneliness forever.”
He paused at my words, then spoke, “You’re just a coward and not up to competing with Caitlyn. Don’t think you can count on the shareholders’ respect in the company to go up against Caitlyn for assets. You don’t have what it takes.”
I didn’t even want to bother with him anymore. I felt like whatever I said to him was
pointless.
“Alright, if she’s so keen on looking for trouble, why should I stand in her way? Give her the Development Project in Mississippi. It’s no big deal to me.*
Leland was taken aback, seemingly surprised by my indifference.
I turned to head to the basement, where I now lived.
However, I was worried about whether my baby could withstand it.
Yet Leland wasn’t about to let me go.”Where are you going? Go to the kitchen and prepare dinner!”
Without turning around, I replied coldly, “I’ll get the documents about the partnership for you. From now on, I’ll stay in the guest room. This is my home. I won’t stay in the basement.”
My words made Leland’s eyes fill with deep scrutiny. He pushed Caitlyn aside and stood in front of me.
