Chapter145.

Leland’s gaze sharpened as he surveyed Tyrell before him, a frown creasing his brow.

There was an undeniable naiveté about Tyrell. Who was he, and what secrets lay beneath his unassuming facade?

Initially, many had questioned Tyrell’s credentials, but skepticism quickly gave way to belief when he produced the legendary global unlimited black

card.

With a single swipe, it could authorize transactions up to 2 billion dollars-its true balance known only to the privileged cardholder.

Leland’s voice cut through the tension, clear and unwavering. Very well. The Leslie Group is yours. In accordance with the agreement, please remit 500 million dollars to the Zenith Group as liquidated damages. The remaining 500 million dollars should be transferred to my wife, Kaylie Perez’s account. When I first acquired the Leslie Group, its valuation stood at 500 million dollars. My stewardship, I fear, did little to enhance its worth. I have no stomach to claim what I did not adequately build, least of all from the Perez family.”

With his final words, Leland fell silent, closing his eyes as a faint shadow of sorrow touched his features.

Tyrell regarded Leland, his expression a mix of emotions, before his gaze flickered toward me.

He pressed Leland gently, “I witnessed your devotion to your wife once-how you showered her with the most breathtaking fireworks, purchased Cherry Farmland in its entirety, ensured she never bore undue burden, living in comfort. I saw you weep by her hospital bed, even paint with your own blood in her honor. So tell me, why, having given her such boundless love, did you ultimately choose to hurt her feelings so deeply?”

Leland’s face twisted in visible anguish, as if the memory itself had become a fresh wound.

“Don’t say anymore. I know I was wrong! I regret it more than anything. I’ll search the entire world, every corner, every country, until I find her. I love my wife-I love Kaylie.”

His words tumbled out in a disoriented rush. Allen spoke up, his tone sharp, “Leland, a man shouldn’t sacrifice his career for a woman. If you won’t betray Kaylie, then what chance do other men who admire her have?”

Leland halted, his voice suddenly firm, cutting through the air.”No. I won’t give anyone a chance. Kay is mine. She won’t go to anyone else.”

Leland snatched up the contract, scrawled his signature across it, and thrust it toward Tyrell.”As agreed, the Leslie Group is yours.”

Tyrell inclined his head in acknowledgment.”Excellent. May I inquire if the Perez villa, currently occupied by you, is also available for purchase?”

Leland’s composure shattered.”Not for sale. Not for any price!”
