Old Dreams No Return (Serena) novel Chapter 168

Chapter146.

A charged silence hung between Tyrell and Leland, the air thick with unspoken hostility. Tyrell’s glare was like a physical force, locked onto Leland, their argument poised perilously on the brink of erupting into a violent confrontation.

Allen stepped quickly between them, his voice urgent, cutting through the tension. “Enough! Both of you, calm down. Let me make this clear, Mr. Pearson. Don’t dwell on your losses. What was taken was never yours. And what truly matters, no one can ever take away from you.”

Leland nodded. “You’re right. All I want now is to find Kay. That’s why I won’t sell the villa. I need it to be there, so she always has a place to come home

to.”

A mocking laugh escaped Tyrell.”Irony, Mr. Pearson. You cast aside your wife for a fleeting affair, only to feign concern now that your reputation lies in ruins. It’s quite the spectacle, witnessing this peculiar brand of devotion you have for your wife.”

Leland’s brow furrowed. “What are you implying? There must be some misunderstanding. I made a mistake—a mistake any man could have made. Is this why you’re being so ruthless? Just to get your hands on the Perez’s villa?”

A sneer curled Tyrell’s lip. “Let’s be clear. I believe someone who has committed such dishonorable acts has no right to reside within the Perez’s home. My intention is simply to preserve the villa for Ms. Perez’s parents, to keep this last vestige of memory for the family’s rightful heir-a young woman I hold in high esteem.”

Leland’s fingers tightened around the ring on his finger, a visible tremor running through him. He squeezed his eyes shut, the pain a palpable weight for a few long seconds, before slowly reopening them, his gaze now steely.

“Mr. Vaughn, if you wish to acquire the Leslie Group, there is one condition. Transfer the 500 million dollars to my wife, Kaylie’s account. And if, for some reason, you cannot locate her, I expect a full explanation from you. Today.”

Tyrell looked momentarily stunned.”Mr. Pearson, you can’t be serious. If you can’t find her, how am I supposed to help you locate her? Besides, the divorce is a matter of public record. Ms. Perez has made it clear she wants nothing more to do with you. The papers are signed; the account is closed-proof positive. Kindly refrain from referring to Ms. Perez as your wife.”
