Chapter 18
Yes, Ms. Perez. Every year, you and Mr. Pearson sing the opening love song together. This year is no exception, right?”
My head felt heavy. I hadn’t been to the company for the past half month. Were they trying to make my head explode with so many questions?
Leland showed some concern.
He came to me and stood in front of me, protecting me.”Alright, my little princess has just arrived, and you all threw questions at her. I haven’t even had a chance to talk to her yet. Aren’t you worried that I will get jealous?”

I awkwardly smiled and then felt a touch of sourness inside.”I am just worried that I won’t be used to it without you!”
Leland was taken aback, and then he cunningly argued, “Without me? What do you mean? I am right by your side; you can hold my hand at any
Ha!” I found that I couldn’t laugh anymore. The smile on my face must look ugly.
My eyes felt a little warm. Afraid that Leland would overthink it, I quickly changed the subject.
