Chapter 19
When I was dazed, Leland straightened my face.
Meres
“What is my little princess thinking? Is your stomachache better? You have lost too much weight these days, and I am very worried.”
I smiled and stood up, “Mr. Devil, I have grown up, and you don’t need to be my Mr. Devil anymore. Just be the company’s Mr. Pearson!”
I remembered that I used to call him Mr. Devil in my childhood. He always said, “In the future, I will do my best to protect you and take care of you!”
I wiped away my tears and shook my head.”But you need to be Mr. Devil; otherwise you can’t defeat the monsters and demons in the company.”
“Okay, for you, my little princess, I am willing to be Mr. Devil!”
Upon hearing my words, Leland panicked.”No, I want to forever be your Mr. Devil. I want you to be my carefree little princess, forever!”
If I had not known about his secret affair with Caitlyn, I would have been deeply moved and rushed into his arms, assuring him that I would never leave
him.
But at that moment, I just smiled bitterly and said, “Alright, you go ahead to work. I’ll go check the project layout.”
After saying that, I felt a mix of emotions. I turned around and left the meeting room.

I called my best friend over, and she looked around to make sure no one was there. Then, she directly put
“What happened to you, Kay? How come you become so skinny in just a few days?”

shoulder.
I couldn’t help but cry on her shoulder. Denise Barnett was my best friend whom I had known since I was ten years old.
Apart from Leland, after my parents passed away, Denise was the best to me. We grew up together, from elementary school to middle school, high school, and college. After graduation, I brought her to my company.
