“When I decided to leave, I never planned on going back.”

“…You’re still as dull as ever!” Ray said, then asked, “So, what do you need this time?”

“It’s about that person, the one with the code name ‘boss‘ at the Red Mark Base, I need to know his activity range in the

Middle East and who he’s met with,” Hugo stated clearly.

“Still haven’t settled things with him, huh?”

“Seems like this won’t be easy to resolve,” Hugo’s voice was as cold as ice.

“Looks like he’s really ticked you off this time,” Ray said, unable to suppress his curiosity. “But J, you said you’re not in the

coldness in his raised eyebrows. He squinted, his strong jaw slightly lifted, making his already chiseled face appear even

sharper. His eyes held shards of ice, and his lips curled into a faint, mocking smile, exuding an air of arrogance and

intrigue.

On the balcony, First sat in front of his computer, his brow furrowed.

He glanced at his phone nearby, filled with worry and doubt. He had called Scarlett several times but hadn’t gotten

through, and she hadn’t returned any of his calls.

As he pondered this, his phone rang.

First picked it up immediately, but when he saw it was Tara calling, he paused for a moment before answering.

“Hello.”

“Everything’s arranged. Come pick up the goods the day after tomorrow,” Tara said.

“Look at you, all worked up over Scarlett. Don’t turn into a mama’s boy!”

“Don’t worry, with someone like Scarlett, there’s no way I’d turn into that!”

“True enough!” Tara laughed.

“Alright, I’m just letting you know. I have other things to arrange, so I won’t be back at the estate tonight. I’ll pick you up

directly the afternoon after tomorrow.”

“Okay, don’t forget to check on it for me.”

“Got it!”

After hanging up, First stared at his phone. Even though Tara Green had assured him, he still felt uneasy.

After all, the last time Scarlett Adler’s phone was unreachable, she ended up in a car accident. Now, he’s genuinely worried

Just as he was about to track Scarlett Adler’s location, William Adler approached with a cup of tea.

Initially, First didn’t notice him.

It wasn’t until William walked in and softly called his name that First looked up. As soon as he saw him, Scarlett’s advice echoed in his mind. Quickly, First closed the page he had been on and opened a cartoon video instead.

“Great–grandfather,” First greeted him with a slight smile.

William approached, and when he saw the cartoon playing on the computer, he frowned. “Why not use the TV in your room?”

“The view’s better here,” First replied. “I can watch and enjoy the scenery at the same time.”

“You sure know how to enjoy life!” William said, sitting down across from him.

Watching the computer in front of First, William recalled how focused and fast First had been typing when he walked over… It didn’t seem like he was watching cartoons at all. Instead, it looked like he was typing, and very quickly at that… It reminded William of a young Terry.
