sign of her!”

Hugo frowned upon hearing this.

“In other places, we’ve already got people searching, but there’s no news yet,” Ray said.

Hugo furrowed his brow. “During the search, did anything unusual happen?” he asked.

“Unusual? What do you mean?”

“Anything out of the ordinary!”

Ray thought for a moment, then pulled out his phone, put it on speaker, and asked directly, “Did anything unusual happen while you were searching?”

“Unusual? No, nothing.”

“Are you sure?”

“Oh, wait, there was something. At a hotel, the staff mentioned seeing a very beautiful woman. We compared photos, but they couldn’t be sure. We went to check the room, but then there was a problem with the fire alarm, and everyone had to

After a twenty–minute drive, they arrived at the hotel and the room they had been told about.

“When did she check out?” Ray asked the staff member.

The staff member thought for a moment. “The day you came looking, there was a fire alarm issue, so we didn’t check this room. After that, it showed as checked out, so it must have been that day…”

Hugo frowned.

“Are you saying this room wasn’t checked?” Ray asked.

The staff member nodded. “We knocked for a long time, but no one answered. We thought it was empty. Just as I was

about to use the key card to open it, the fire alarm went off, and everyone evacuated.”

Ray looked at Hugo. “If it really was her, then we missed it. But isn’t this all a bit too coincidental?”
