Chapter 92 That’s just too manipulative.
The atmosphere was awkward.
Scarlett didn’t know what to say.

Seeing the situation, William worried that Yale might take offense, quickly spoke up, “Old Hodges, let’s step outside for a
chat.” William tilted his head, signaling him to follow.
With years of friendship between them, a glance was enough to understand his intention. Old Hodges muttered, “Fine,
let’s go.”
Just as he was about to leave, he turned back to Hugo, “You stay here and look after Scarlett.”
Hugo nodded.
Scarlett thought to herself, “Are they doing this on purpose?”
In the hospital room.
Scarlett, Yale, the two little ones, and Hugo remained.
The atmosphere was quite unique.
Scarlett looked at the two kids, “You two, go do your homework.”
Fourth and Second nodded obediently, “Got it.”
So, the two of them went to a corner and started working on their homework.
Seeing this, Hugo walked over to the kids, “I’ll help you with it.”
As soon as Fourth heard this, a delighted smile spread across her face. But catching Scarlett’s gaze, she quickly composed herself and said politely, “Thank you, Uncle.”
“You’re welcome,” Hugo replied with a smile, glancing back at Scarlett with a raised eyebrow, full of playful challenge.

Scarlett rolled her eyes at him.

Yale observed the entire exchange but acted as if he hadn’t noticed. Instead, he turned to Scarlett and asked, “How about
some fruit?”
Scarlett was about to shake her head when Yale picked up an orange. “Fourth mentioned you really like oranges.”
Scarlett didn’t deny it. “That little girl tells you everything.”
Yale said nothing, simply peeling an orange for her. “Try it.”
Scarlett accepted it, saying, “Thanks,” as she popped a segment into her mouth.
“How is it? Sweet?”
Scarlett nodded. “It is really sweet.”
“Then have some more,” Yale said, continuing to peel more for her.
Scarlett was eating piece after piece, laughing and chatting with Yale.
Nearby, Hugo watched them, his dark eyes seemingly filled with color.
A cold smile crept onto his lips.
Fourth noticed Hugo’s little mood shift.
She finally understood why TV shows always have two equally matched guys–because only through competition can you get a thrilling process and outcome!
It seemed letting the story unfold naturally wasn’t a bad idea.
But seeing Hugo at a disadvantage, Fourth couldn’t help but want to lend a hand.
“Hey, I want some water,” Fourth said.

Hugo glanced at her, a smile tugging at his lips. “Wait here, I’ll get it for you.” He stood up and headed toward Yale and
Scarlett.
Second looked up at Fourth, shaking his head in resignation.
Women!
Always so cunning!
He lowered his gaze and continued with his homework.
At that moment, Yale was chatting with Scarlett, while Hugo casually poured water nearby, pretending not to notice them.
Yale and Scarlett continued their conversation as if Hugo wasn’t even there.
As Hugo finished pouring water and turned around, he saw the two chatting happily. In the next moment, his hand slipped, and the water spilled directly onto Yale’s clothes.
Yale immediately stood up.
“Oh, Mr. Lowe, I’m sorry, it wasn’t intentional,” Hugo said, though his expression was smug.
Scarlett gave him a sideways glance, questioning his sincerity.
She pulled some napkins from the table and handed them to Yale. “Are you okay?”
Yale maintained his good–natured demeanor, shaking his head. “I’m fine.”
“Mr. Lowe isn’t upset, right?” Hugo asked, looking at him.
Yale smiled politely, “It’s just a shirt, no big deal.”
Hugo nodded, “As long as you’re not upset. But your shirt’s all wet, looks like you’ll need to go change.”
Everyone knew what Hugo meant.
Yale glanced at Hugo, then turned his attention to Scarlett, “Scarlett…”

“It’s getting late, I should head back. You get some rest, and I’ll come see you tomorrow,” Yale said.
Scarlett nodded, “Be careful on your way.”
Yale nodded back.
“No need to see me out, Mr. Lowe,” Hugo said.
Yale glanced at Hugo, a small smile playing on his lips. “No need,” he replied, then turned to the two little ones. “Second,
Fourth, I’m heading out.”
“Goodbye, Uncle Lowe.”
“Bye, Uncle,” they waved.
Yale smiled and left.
As the door closed, Hugo raised an eyebrow, feeling like he’d won effortlessly.
Scarlett looked at him, “Hugo, was that fun for you?”
“What?” Hugo turned back, feigning innocence.
Scarlett smirked, “Mr. Hodges, your acting skills are impressive. If the company ever fails, you could always try acting.”
Hugo’s lips curled up, “Right back at you.”
“Here you go, sweetheart, have some water,” Scarlett said, pouring another glass and walking over to Fourth.
“Thanks, mister,” Fourth replied, taking the glass. She glanced at Scarlett, then turned away to sip her water.
Oh my gosh, she couldn’t believe her dad could be so sly, pulling off something like this!
Even she could tell it was intentional!
Such a sneaky move!
She couldn’t even bear to look!

Meanwhile, Hugo just looked indifferent.
Sometimes, you shouldn’t worry too much about the means as long as you achieve the goal.
He was secretly pleased with himself.
Scarlett couldn’t be bothered with him. She just lay down to sleep, out of sight, out of mind.
Outside.
William and Old Adler found a spot to sit across from each other.
William was unsure how to start the conversation. After all, it wasn’t exactly his place to bring it up.
“Old man Adler, those two kids, they aren’t Scarlett’s, are they?” Old Adler asked.
“Of course, they’re my Scarlett’s!”
“No, I mean, are they Scarlett and my boy’s?”
William stayed silent.

The silence spoke volumes, and Mr. Hodges understood it well.
“Is it true?” Mr. Hodges asked excitedly.
“No!” William said firmly. “Those two kids have nothing to do with your Hodges Family. They’re part of our Adler Family!”
Upon hearing this, Mr. Hodges exclaimed, “You old fool…”
“Back when Scarlett was pregnant with twins, Hugo found out after the divorce. He did look for Scarlett, you can’t hide
that from me!” Mr. Hodges insisted.
“So what? Those kids were dealt with long ago,” William replied.
“You’re old enough to know better than to spout nonsense. So, whose kids are they?” Mr. Hodges challenged.

“Certainly not from your Hodges Family!” William declared with certainty.

Despite William’s words, Mr. Hodges was even more convinced. Those kids must be part of the Hodges Family.
Just looking at their faces was enough to confirm it!
And knowing Old Adler’s character, it was a sure thing!
