“What the fuck do you mean by she is gone?!” He roared, springing to his feet.

“We think she might have been taken.” Jordan answered nervously.

“You think?!” Lucian’s voice rose even louder.

“No, boss! We’re certain she was taken. I have all the men combing the entire city as we speak.” Jordan rushed to clarify.

“Why the fuck weren’t you with her?! You’re paid to watch over her twenty-four seven, so where the fuck were you when she was being taken?!”

“Boss, she used the elevator to the underground parking lot, where the storage units are. I didn’t even know she was there until her assistant called me.” Jordan tried to explain, voice shaking.

“I’ll deal with you later. For now gather everyone and meet me at the warehouse in five minutes.” Lucian ended the call with lethal finality.

Without delay, he grabbed his coat and headed for the door but stopped mid-stride, turning back to Cobi.

“Don’t do anything stupid and wait here. You’re injured. Alina wouldn’t want you getting hurt. We’ll let you know when we get her back.” He said, his voice firm, eyes burning with steady determination.

For Lucian, it wasn’t a question of ‘if, it was when.

Cobi clenched his fists, frustrated to be sidelined, but he nodded anyways. There wasn’t much else he could do in his condition and he wasn’t about to test Lucian.

Lucian left after his nod of confirmation.

The moment Lucian was gone, he reached for his phone and called Talia.

“Cobi, Alina has been kidnapped!” She said breathlessly her tone panicked as the line connected.

“I know. Lucian was just here when the call came in informing us.” Cobi told her, tone grim.

“I just checked the CCTV. It was that bastard Jackson who took her.” Talia added, her voice cracking with fear.

“I figured. It had to be him.” Cobi growled, jaw clenched.

“Where are you

now?”

“I’m at home. Mr. Blackwood said not to get involved, he’ll let me know when they find her.” Cobi told her sounding annoyed.

“He’s right, there isn’t much the both of us can do at this point and we’d only get in the way right now. If there’s anyone who can find her, it’s him.” Talia said, trying to sound calm. “What was he doing at your place, anyway?”

“He found out Alina was keeping me here and thought I was her lover or something” Cobi told her.

“I knew we should’ve told him!” She groaned. “It was only a matter of time before he found out you were there anyways, nothing gets past Lucian Blackwood. Hope you are okay though? he didn’t hurt you or anything?”

“Not at all.” Cobi shook his head even though Talia couldn’t see him. “I was in the middle of telling him what I knew about Jackson when the call telling us about Alina’s disappearance came in.”

“This is crazy… I hope that psycho doesn’t hurt her before they find her.” Talia whispered, dreading the thoughts.

Alina had told her how Jackson had hurt her on her previous life and she can only hope and pray that she is found before Jackson does any damage to her.

“I’m coming over so we can wait this put together. I can’t be alone right now, heaven knows I would go insane.”

“Good, I will be waiting. Lord knows I too need the company.” Cobi said quietly.

Meanwhile, at the warehouse…

Lucian stormed through the room, barking orders, muscles taut with rage and impatience.

What the fuck do you mean the trail went cold?!” He yelled. “Search for other CCTVs in the area, there has to be one that bloody caught something!”

“O…on…….it, boss.” The tech guy stuttered, fingers trembling as it flew across the keyboard. He was a skinny, nervous type, arge glasses sliding down his nose as he worked.

Ace, has the tracker on her engagement ring been activated?” Lucian demanded, turning sharply to Ace who was standing behind another tech guy.

‘Not yet, boss. Something keeps jamming the signal.” Ace responded, eyes narrowed at the screen that had various numbers and letters running over the screen.

He had no idea what they meant but he knew the tech guy was trying to bypass the signal jam

Can someone fucking give me something? Anything?!” Lucian threw his hands up in frustration. “It’s been over two fucking hours, the more time we waste, the more her chances of staying alive slip away!”
