“So she’s been meddling in my relationship, sowing god knows what with Alina, because of some silly schoolgirl crush? And who knows what else she’s done behind my back.” He rounded on Ace, voice low and dangerous. “Pull the hidden CCTV footage from my office. Now!” He stabbed a finger at Ace’s tablet.
Ace nodded, heart pounding. “Right away, sir.”
He risked a glance at Lucian’s hard profile, eyes blazing with pure rage and betrayal. Obediently, he turned back to his screen, already dreading the next set of answers that would surface.
Ace pulled up the secret CCTV footage from Lucian’s office, but Lucian’s voice cut in, low and tense.
“Not just any day,” he said, eyes narrowing. “Pull up the footage from when Alina came by with lunch. I want to see what Jessica did after she left.”
Ace gave a silent nod and adjusted the time stamp. The screen shifted.
At first, the footage showed Lucian seated behind his desk, typing on his computer with his usual focus. A moment later, Ace entered the frame, extending his phone toward him.
Lucian took it without much thought, glanced at the screen, and set it down on the desk before saying something to Ace. The two men then exited the office together.
Lucian clenched his jaw as he watched, the memory vivid in his mind. That had only been two days ago. Ace had brought him a lead on the person responsible for his family’s destruction. It hadn’t been anything solid, but Lucian had been desperate to chase it.
About five minutes after they left, Jessica appeared in the footage. She slipped into the office, glancing around like she was making sure no one else was watching. Then she made her way toward the desk and picked up both phones, his and Ace’s.
“Zoom in.” Lucian muttered, tension threading through his voice.
Ace obeyed, enlarging the frame. The image focused on Jessica’s fingers, moving with practiced speed across Lucian’s screen.
Lucian leaned forward, eyebrows furrowing as realization dawned.
“Is she fucking deleting my messages and call log?” He asked, disbelief breaking through the fury simmering beneath his voice.
“I believe so.” Ace responded quietly, watching the same thing happen with his own phone on the screen.
Seconds later, Jessica dropped the phones back on the desk and smiled, an unmistakable, victorious smirk, before turning on her heel and walking out.
Lucian’s lips parted slightly. His hand curled into a fist.

Chapter 147
A few minutes later, the footage showed them both walking back into the office.
Lucian paused the video with a sharp press of the ipad screen.
“She intercepted them,” he said, voice low but seething. “Alina called. She texted. But Jessica got to the phones before we saw anything.”
Ace hesitated, brows pulling together as he glanced over. “Maybe, maybe it’s what Jessica said to her that day. Maybe that’s what made Madame send the breakup message.”
Lucian’s jaw tensed, words forming, but before he could respond, the intercom crackled to life.
“Gentlemen,” the pilot’s voice came through, calm and steady. “Please fasten your seatbelts. We’ll be landing shortly.”
Lucian didn’t move. He just stared at the frozen frame of Jessica’s smug face on the screen, rage and something darker swirling in his eyes
Jordan and Lee were already waiting at the airport by the time Lucian and Ace stepped off the jet.
Lucian didn’t waste time. His steps were brisk as he made his way toward the waiting car, his voice sharp and
controlled.
“Has she been found?”
Jordan hesitated, just enough to make Lucian slow his stride.
“No, boss.” He admitted exchanging a nervous look with Ace.
Lucian paused just before reaching the car, his hand tightening around the door handle. He turned his head sharply toward them, eyes blazing.
“Why the fuck not?” His voice was dangerously low, simmering with barely contained rage. “What the hell have you two been doing all this while?”
Jordan shifted slightly, sweat beading at his temple. “We’ve been trying to track her through CCTV sightings around town,” he began carefully, his voice steady but cautious. “And it worked for a while… she was showing up on traffic cams, store fronts, even street corners.”
Lucian’s eyes narrowed. “And?”
Jordan exhaled tightly. “It’s like she figured it out. She started avoiding every single one. No cameras. No patterns. No trace. She’s gone completely off–grid.”
Lucian’s fists tightened at his sides. His eyes flickered with something between fury and helplessness, two emotions he despised.
“Then fucking track her with the damn ring!” he snapped. “Do I have to teach you people everything?”
Jordan winced. “We tried that too boss…. but she left the ring at the penthouse.”

“What the fuck, Alina…” he muttered under his breath before yanking the door open and climbing in. “Drive straight to the office,” he barked at the driver.
The ride was silent, thick with tension. The moment they arrived at the Blackwood Tower Lucian took his private elevator, the one that led directly from the underground parking lot to his office. He didn’t want to alert anyone. Not yet.
Inside his office, he didn’t sit. He turned to Jordan and Lee instead, his tone deadly calm.
“Go bring Emma to me right now.”
“Ehm, boss, who is Emma?” Jordan asked, confused.
