“You think I’d come here, in front of everyone and the cameras, and make accusations without proof?”
Silence fell.
The crowd hushed instantly, all eyes fixed on her.
Phones tilted higher, lenses zooming in.
The tension in the air was palpable, everybody was waiting for the proof.
Jessica straightened her back, lifting her chin with defiance, though her voice carried a nervous edge beneath the surface.
“Yes, I want to see proof. Stop accusing me without evidence, Alina. I can sue you for defamation of character.”
The confidence in her tone was forced, masking the flicker of unease in her eyes.
She had always been careful, erasing CCTV footage, clearing her tracks. There was no way Alina could have anything real.
A cold, knowing laugh slipped from Alina’s lips, her eyes gleaming with quiet triumph.

“Are you sure you want me to play this video?”
Arms folded tightly across her chest, Jessica scoffed, as if certain this was nothing but a bluff.
“Yes. Play it. Let everyone see you’re just trying to smear me.”
Alina tilted her head, her smirk widening.
All right then.”
The moment the words left her mouth, the giant screen above the runway went black. Silence fell, anticipation rippling through the crowd as the display came alive again.
Footage began to play.
Gasps echoed through the hall as Jessica appeared onscreen, sneaking into Lucian’s penthouse, rifling through his wardrobe.
The audience watched in stunned disbelief as she lifted one of his shirts to her face, closing her eyes as she inhaled deeply, her expression disturbingly cuphoric.
Clip after clip showed her spraying herself with his cologne, slipping into his jacket, caressing objects he had touched as if they were sacred.

Chapter 182
The room buzzed with shock, the whispers sharp and cutting.
“Oh my God… is that really her?”
“She’s sniffing his clothes, how creepy is that?”
“And she had the nerve to call Alina desperate?”

Then the footage shifted, sharper now, grainy but undeniable. Jessica caught in stolen embraces with the head of HR, then again with the head of accounting.
Married men.
The whispers turned into a low uproar.
“She was with both of them?”
“Disgusting… how could she do that?”
“And she came here acting all righteous?”
Jessica’s face turned ashen, every inch of her composure stripped away. Her lips parted, but no sound came.
She stood frozen, a deer caught in the glare of headlights, while the screen continued to betray her.
Alina remained poised, arms loosely folded, her gaze steady and unyielding. She didn’t need to say anything, the footage spoke louder than words ever could.
And in the midst of it all, no one noticed Louis quietly edging toward the exit.
His phone buzzed in his palm, the message stark and commanding:
‘Fall back to base. Your cover’s blown. Leave. Now.’
His jaw tightened. Without hesitation, he slipped through the crowd, his expression shadowed with frustration.
One last glance over his shoulder landed on Alina, standing tall, composed amidst the chaos. His stare lingered, unreadable, before he vanished into the night, unnoticed by anyone.
Inside, the whispers grew louder, accusations filling the room as the video rolled on, exposing every sordid detail. Jessica’s mask had shattered, and the crowd was feasting on the pieces,
The footage on the giant screen rolled on, each new revelation shredding what little dignity she had left.
Her breathing quickened, her face pale beneath the harsh lights as whispers coiled around her like knives.
She suddenly turned toward Lucian, her voice breaking into a desperate cry.
“It’s a lie! You have to believe me, she’s doing this just to ruin me! None of this is real, it’s all fabricated!”

Alina’s smirk barely wavered as she folded her arms, her voice cutting through the chaos with cool precision.
“That’s already more than enough. But I’m only getting started.”
Stop it! Turn it off!” she shrieked, spinning toward the crowd, her eyes wide with terror. “Don’t look at this… don’t believe it! It’s not who I am!”
But the audience’s expressions told her the truth, horror, disgust, some even pity. The damage was carved
into stone.
Still, she whirled back to Lucian, her voice dropping into a desperate plea.
“You have to pick me, Lucian. You have to. If you don’t-” Her expression twisted, venom slipping past her trembling lips. ” If you don’t, you’ll regret it.”
Lucian’s brows lifted, calm but sharp, his voice low and measured.
“By regret, what do you mean? That you’ll accuse me of molesting you? Or perhaps of rape? Just like you did with the bosses you worked under in the past?”
Her eyes widened, horror flashing across her face as though the ground had been ripped from beneath her.
“H–how… how do you know that?”
The crowd stirred again, gasps filling the air.
Lucian’s gaze was steady, unflinching.
“Am I wrong…Evelyn Mercer.”
She froze. The name seemed to slice through her, stealing the breath from her chest. No one here knew that name. Her record had been scrubbed clean, every file erased, every trail covered.
She stumbled back a step, shaking her head violently.
“I don’t… I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Really?” His tone dropped lower, colder. “I spoke with one of your former bosses. He had quite a lot to say about the kind of person you are. Tell me something, if I refuse you, will you try to destroy me too? Try to ruin my name and my reputation like you did to them?”
Her lips trembled, but no words came.
Lucian’s eyes narrowed, the final blow striking without hesitation.
“And don’t think I don’t know about the money you’ve been stealing. You and the accounting manager, working hand in hand. I have the records. Every piece of evidence I need to put you both behind bars for
