Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 404

At this moment, Arnold couldn't quite grasp the underlying meaning in Lambert's words, but a growing sense of unease began to stir within him, fueled by those words and the look in Lambert's eyes.

This unease only intensified as they drew closer to a certain location.

Arnold glanced nervously at Lambert beside him, bewildered as to how he had discovered this place—the very location where Jerold had used to hold Lucian captive.

Logically, there was no need for such elaborate measures for a baby who couldn't even walk yet. But to avoid any unforeseen mishaps, Arnold and Jerold had hired mercenaries as a precaution. Yet, this place! How had Lambert found it?

Arnold's heart raced.

He silently prayed that Jerold and the others had already left the area.

Though he didn't know when Lambert had uncovered this location, he hoped that he had only discovered a small part of it and nothing more.

Originally, the plan was to leave the little brat Lucian by the roadside, and then he and Lambert would go over to pick him up. But now, it seemed Lambert had already pinpointed the destination. Then... it was highly likely that the lack of recent communication from Jerold was related to this.

He could only hope that when they arrived, they would only see Lucian.

And not a single one of the kidnappers—

Otherwise, the slip-up this time would be enough for Lambert to uncover the entire scheme! If that happened, there would be no way to keep this matter under wraps.

Unfortunately, his prayers were in vain.

By the time Lambert finally reached the abandoned factory, Arnold's face was as pale as a sheet. With a ghastly expression, he said, "Lambert, let the bodyguards go in first to check the situation. What if they have guns? It would be too dangerous for you to go in recklessly."

Arnold grabbed hold of Lambert, adamant about not letting him enter.

Lambert cast a fleeting glance at Arnold and said indifferently, "It's nothing." With that, he coldly pried Arnold's hand off and made to step inside.

Arnold's heart raced. Watching Lambert's determined stride, he instinctively reached out and grabbed him again, forcing a strained smile. "I still think it's better to let the bodyguards go in first. Better safe than sorry. I'm your brother, and the old man sent me to keep an eye on you because he’s worried you might act impulsively. So, you have to listen to me. Let the bodyguards check things out first. Otherwise, I won’t let you go in."

Arnold gripped Lambert's arm tightly, his expression one of genuine concern.

Lambert stared at him expressionlessly for a long moment before suddenly smiling faintly. "Alright, we’ll do it your way, big brother."

Arnold immediately exhaled in relief and quickly signaled to one of the bodyguards, a man he trusted, to go in. With a meaningful look, he silently urged the bodyguard to assess the situation and warn those inside so they could escape. What he didn’t notice, however, was the cold, mocking glint in Lambert’s dark eyes as he watched him with icy calm.
