“Blanca?” James pulled her into his arms, his voice full of concern. “What’s going on?”

Bianca leaned against his chest, a calculating glint in her eyes.

“James, I’m okay. I was just really tired last night,” she said, her cheeks flushing a deep red, like a sunset.

Her soft words carried a hint of ambiguity.

James’s mind drifted back to the previous night’s intimacy. Seeing her blushing face, he felt his throat go dry.

At his age, full of youthful vigor, Emily had always refused any premarital intimacy, making Bianca the first woman he had been with.

James’s gaze deepened.

But considering Bianca’s condition, he suppressed his thoughts.

“You’re too weak. I’ll take you to Emberfall City!”

“I promised you. Don’t refuse! Even if I can’t give you a commitment, at least let me do something to make up for it!”

James spoke heavily.

Bianca met his determined gaze and softened, nodding. “Okay.”

And so, James carried her to the car.

They returned to the Johnson Villa to grab some clothes before heading to the airport for Emberfall City.

The Johnson family had been busy these days. Eli was occupied with a company design project, Aiden was overwhelmed with Al matters, and Hayden was under the impression that he was negotiating a major project with a friend, who was currently planning a trip to Zephyria.

Do you have to talk like that? Don’t pretend you don’t care. You knew we were coming and followed us here. If you want me to value you, you should listen to what I have to say. Emily felt a wave of sarcasm.

Aaron had come because a pharmaceutical company wanted to collaborate with them. Hearing that Emily was in Emberfall City, he insisted on meeting her.

He was there to take Emily to the meeting.
