Revenge Wears My Ring novel Chapter 8

Gwyneth gazed at his strikingly handsome face, slowly regaining her composure.

Honestly, marrying Bennett—becoming the wife of Meridia’s business titan—wasn’t exactly a bad deal.

She’d heard plenty about him. Raised in Meridia, a prodigy since childhood, Bennett had broken into the city’s elite markets the moment he turned eighteen. Now, at twenty-seven, he’d already built his own business empire overseas. His reputation preceded him: ruthless, brilliant, and utterly unforgiving in business.

She’d never met the man before, but the stories painted him as decisive, vengeful, and even cruel.

Sure, marrying him might put the shareholders at ease. With Bennett’s support, avenging her parents might even become possible. But it would also put her in far more dangerous territory.

After all, a man at the top of the world could be either her stepping stone—or the mountain that crushed her.

Testing the waters, Gwyneth asked, “Aren’t you worried I have an agenda, getting close to you like this?”

Bennett smirked, completely unfazed. “We’ve already slept together. If anyone’s at a disadvantage, it’s you.”

She found herself staring at his handsome features, silently admitting there was something about this man that was impossible to resist.

He picked up his watch and fastened it around his wrist. “Tomorrow morning. I’ll meet you at the registry office.”

His tone made it clear—this was an announcement, not a request.

Gwyneth still hadn’t made up her mind about this marriage. “And if I don’t show up?”

Bennett arched a brow, his lips curving into a dangerous smile. His voice was low, full of threat. “Then I’ll just have to drag you there myself.”

Gwyneth stared at him. Was he insane?

She couldn’t help but mutter, “Is this your idea of a proposal?”

“If you’re not satisfied with my proposal, I can always do it again.”

“She won’t be, not anymore.” Bennett’s eyes glinted, the deep black in them swirling.

Hugo blinked. “Excuse me?”

Without another word, Bennett handed him the cash. “Take this to the bank. Open a separate account for it.”

Hugo accepted the money, feeling as if it were burning a hole in his hand.

It was strange. Mr. Boyd had never cared about small sums like this before. Why bother opening a new account now?

Who would’ve thought the famously aloof Mr. Boyd would get himself tangled up in a romance?

Well… maybe not quite a romance. Especially considering how noisy things had gotten last night.
