Revenge Wears My Ring novel Chapter 83

No way…

No way!

Ziggy and Gwyneth are two peas in a pod—of course he’d side with her.

But would Ziggy really risk his entire career for this?

Across the glow of the computer screen, Julian’s face had turned ashen. There was a voice in his mind, repeating over and over: Impossible. This can’t be happening.

Gwyneth would never marry someone else. Never.

He didn’t bother wiping the dirt from his trousers or shoes, nor did he care about the fresh burn on the back of his hand.

He simply stretched out his long, cold fingers and pressed play on the security footage with precision.

The video rewound to the few seconds before Gwyneth spoke.

He watched, again and again, as Gwyneth said those words—“I’m married.” He stared at that red marriage certificate, hunting for any hint, any inconsistency, anything to prove this was a lie.

Each repetition felt like reopening an old wound carved into his chest. The pain should have been unbearable, but now it was only numbness. What cut deeper was the creeping realization, cold and relentless, that he had been utterly betrayed and discarded—erased from her life like he never mattered at all. The knowledge wrapped around his sanity like poisonous vines, squeezing the last bit of reason from his mind.

How could she?

How dare she?

Julian couldn’t even hear the rest of their conversation anymore.

He clenched his fist so hard his knuckles cracked. The burn on his hand split open, tiny beads of blood seeping out, but he didn’t even flinch.

The icy blue light of the monitor cast shadows across his chiseled profile—half of his face cold and sharp as marble, the other half swallowed by darkness, brooding with a dangerous storm.

Investigate.

The thought flashed through his mind like a drawn blade, slicing away the last shreds of self-restraint.

No matter what it took, he would dig up the man behind this—turn the world upside down if he had to.

He would peel apart every layer of this surprise “marriage” until there was nothing left to hide.

He needed to know: Who had the nerve to pull this off? And who gave her the confidence to stage such an elaborate escape right under his nose?

Julian stood up and strode out of his office.

Meanwhile, the boardroom meeting continued.

“Ladies and gentlemen.”

Gwyneth ignored Winston, who sat frozen in disbelief. Her gaze swept over the room like a searchlight, landing on every shareholder. Her voice regained its calm, commanding tone, but now there was an unmistakable chill to it. “As for my appointment as Chairman and CEO of Fletcher Group, and whether I meet the terms of inheritance, Ziggy has already given the final legal word.”

She paused, letting her eyes rest on those shareholders who still looked uncertain or hesitant. The unspoken pressure was almost physical; several of them couldn’t help but lower their heads.

“Now,” Gwyneth’s voice rose, sharp and resolute, the voice of someone who knew she held all the cards. “If you agree to my appointment as Chairman and CEO of Fletcher Group, please raise your hand.”
