Shattered Rose He Held On Tight novel Chapter 127

Chapter 127 The Real Thing Is Scarier

Finished

Truth was, Alice was already dancing pretty damn well at this point. But still, not good enough

for Claudia.

You’ve only got five days. It has to be perfect.

If it didn’t blow people away at first glance, this move would be a waste.

Alice gave a little OK sign with her fingers.

God knew, even back when Celine trained her personally, she’d never worked this hard.

Wait did you choreograph this yourself?

Alice might not have been a toptier dancer, but after years with Celine, her eye for quality was sharp.

And this routine? It was better than a lot of pieces by socalled masters. She was sure of it.

No wonder Celine had gone quiet for a long time after asking Sterling who his girlfriend was, and once she heard it was Claudia, she only said, What a waste.

Because if Claudia had kept dancing, with her level of talent, she’d easily have a place at the top of the dance world by now.

It’s just a hobby,Claudia replied casually.

Alice looked at her and gave her a silent thumbsup.

She had never been more grateful for backing off when she did.

She couldn’t beat Claudia in looks. She couldn’t beat her in brains. And now, even in the one thing she prided herself ondanceshe’d been totally crushed.

If she’d insisted on fighting Claudia for Sterling, she didn’t even want to imagine how badly she’d have lost.

Just then, the studio door opened, and Sterling’s ridiculously handsome face appeared in the doorway.

Dinner’s ready.”

Claudia stood up from the floor. Alice, very much aware of her place, grabbed her little purse and gave an awkward smile. I, uh, actually made plans to grab dinner with a friend, so I’ll head out. I’ll be back first thing tomorrow!

EUROTICU

Before either of them could respond, she bolted like something was chasing her.

Just yesterday, she wouldn’t have believed Sterling was the kind of guy who’d cook for someone. But turns out? Not only did he cook, he did it like it was nothing.

Claudia wasn’t a fan of having a lot of people around. Aside from the cleaning lady who came by regularly, she handled most things at home herself.

So when it was just the two of them, Sterling usually took care of the cooking.

Claudia was used to it by now and didn’t think much of it, but when Alice saw that table full of colorful, aromatic, and perfectly plated dishes for the first time, her eyes nearly popped out of hér head.

And for some reason, after she used to chase after Sterling like crazy, she was actually spending time near him up close now, and found herself a little intimidated.

The air felt colder around him, the pressure heavier. Dinner felt more like an interrogation than a meal. She was so tense she could barely sit still.

Honestly? Alice would rather go hungry than suffer through that again.

Maybe she was just one of those people who liked the idea of the dragon, but panicked when the real thing showed up.

Watching her practically sprint out the door, Claudia couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Sterling, you really are kind of scary, you know.

Sterling looked calm as ever. While picking up the water glasses around the room, he asked, Then how come you’re not afraid of me?

Claudia actually paused to think about it.

Back when they first met, she did think he was trouble and dangerous. But scared? Not really.

Maybe it was just the timing,” she said.

The first night they met, her emotions had been running so high, she hadn’t really cared about anyone or anything around her. And he’d shown up just in time to be mistaken for a creep, and she’d hauled him off to the police station without a second thought.

He had even helped her sort out a few problems afterward.

That kind of meeting had stripped away a lot of the intimidation that might have come from his background or his name.
