Claudia’s eyes curved slightly. “Why would I refuse? It’s simple; I’m the one who sent her into the prison.”

Begging the very person who pulled the strings–it was almost laughable.

Wilson stared at his daughter’s cold face, as if seeing her ruthless side and cruel method for the first time. His throat dried and tightened.

“What do you want?”

If Claudia’s goal was only to get revenge on Lydia and throw her in jail, she wouldn’t have let them through the door.

Claudia smiled faintly.

“Mr. Lancaster, you know me well enough.”

Her expression turned icy as she looked at the people who used to be her family.

“The 5% of shares that was supposed to be my 18th birthday gift and all the properties you handed to Lydia. Take them back.”

Wilson’s mind raced.

That wasn’t hard to do, but if Lydia came out of jail and saw her family turning their backs on her, she’d break completely.

Even if she married into the Fentons later, the relationship between the two families would be ruined.

Claudia had played a smart move.

She wanted to turn them against each other.

Still, they had no choice. Better to face her resentment than let Lydia rot in jail.

“Donate it,” she said flatly.

Lottie’s face twisted with anger. Claudia added calmly, “Oh, one more thing. Make sure those shares and properties never go back to her. If donation paperwork is too complicated, you can just convert them into charitable funds.”

Then she smiled. A smile that sent chills down their spines. “You know me–I’m petty, vengeful, and I hold grudges. As long as Lydia still has a part of Lancaster Group, I won’t stop until one of us is gone.

“Of course, you can pretend to agree and secretly keep them. But Sterling’s temper isn’t quite as good as mine.”

Wilson’s face darkened.

That was a blatant threat.

“Fine,” he said at last.

He was at his wit’s end.

Claudia nodded in satisfaction. “Good. You can go now.”

The whole talk took less than a few minutes. She’d kicked them out as efficiently as a manager laying off employees.

Lottie hesitated. “And Lydia …”

Claudia didn’t say a word. She simply looked at her quietly.

Clarence wrapped an arm around his mother. “Let’s go.”

Then he turned to Claudia and Alice. “We’ll do what you asked. Just keep your word.”

Claudia smiled quietly.

After the Lancasters left, Alice slumped beside Claudia, pouting. “Claudia, you’re letting Lydia off the hook for real?”

Claudia slowly put

down her cup. “Who said that?”
