Chapter 172 Death Is Too Easy for Him

Paula played with the flowers on the table, acting like she hadn’t heard the question.

Don’t worry. He’s alive. Killing him is too simple. If you truly want someone to suffer, keeping them halfalive is way worse, isn’t it?

Everybody knew that, and the Romeros were experts at it.

They broke Isabella that way, Sterling got his revenge the same way, and now Paula was paying him back in kind.

What are you after?

Paula plucked off a petal. What do I want? I just want him to feel as miserable as I do.”

Ever since Henry turned into a vegetable and Tyson lost the ability to be a real man, her life had been pure hell.

All her power was stripped away, and even her money barely covered the endless hospital bills for both of them.

When people found out Henry tried to kill Sterling but ended up ruining himself, her old friends avoided her like she carried a disease.

The Romeros were even worse, always flattering the strong and trampling the weak. They mocked her daily, treating her like a servant.

Her days were locked between that gloomy manor and a hospital that stank of disinfectant, her body and spirit wasting away.

But the worst part? Even her family turned their backs on her.

Back when Paula married Henry, she had brought huge benefits to them, raising everyone’s

status.

To make it happen, they even forced her to dump the man she loved. For years, they leeched off her, sucking her dry.

And now? They acted like she was worthless.

After Sterling struck back, her parents looked at her with nothing but disappointment. Her brother and her sisterinlaw cut ties completely, full of hate.

They despised her. What a joke.

Finished.

Sometimes, when Paula was angry enough, she thought her husband, who never woke up, and her useless son would be better off dead.

But she knew it was all Sterling’s doing.

He kept them barely alive on purpose.

He wanted her chained to those two halfdead bodies, broken in mind and body. That was his real revenge.

Back then, Leon had died, Quinton was crippled with no spirit left, Kenneth was useless, and Waylon had no influence. Only Henry’s and Jackson’s families had

power.

Whenever Paula went out, people smiled and greeted her warmly.

But when her husband and son fell, she lost everything she leaned on. Now she was running errands for two invalids, meeting nothing but cold looks. That kind of downfall could drive anyone insane.

She should’ve expected it.

Sterling showed no mercy even to his father. For people like them, who once crushed Isabella, there was no way he’d ever forgive.

Paula had had enough of that mental torture.

The rest of the Romeros didn’t dare make a move because they still wanted comfort. Unless they could end Sterling in one blow, they wouldn’t risk it.

But she would.

She’d rather die fighting than keep living like that.

Sterling was cautious, so the best chance was at the manor.

No one in the family would believe that someone as useless and invisible as her would dare try anything.

She already sent Tyson overseas. Before she acted, she even thought of letting Henry die.
