Either Quade admits he picked a light over a woman and ended up humiliated, or he denies it and still comes out looking like a fool.
No matter how you spin it, Quade has no future as a leader.
Walter would probably give up on him now.
On the other end of the call, Mandy hummed cheerfully, her mood light. She had intercepted a scandal for the family, cleaned up the mess, and figured she deserved a bigger slice of the pie for her trouble.
Claudia guessed Quade would choose the first excuse.
After all, a man can be rotten, but he can’t be stupid.
In a prestigious family like the Zimmers, stupidity was the one thing no one could stand.
Besides, if he tried to blame Claudia, it would drag Lydia into the storm. Quade, who dreamed of marrying Lydia, would never risk his goddess facing the fallout.
This time, Quade would have to swallow his pride and choke down his anger.
Whether the rest of the Zimmers believed the story didn’t matter–with Mandy covering things up, they had nothing to worry about.
Claudia, who had just taken down Lydia’s favorite bodyguard and her most reliable lapdog, was in good spirits.
Pocketing her phone, she tugged on Whitney’s arm, who was happily tipsy. “Come on, let’s go home.”
Upstairs, David was still livestreaming the chaos, laughing as he harassed someone on the feed, when a message from overseas finally came through.
“You had my wife handle the situation? What are you, trash?”
David was speechless.
Wait–your wife? Since when?
Weren’t you two business partners? She was his sword and ax?

Chapter 32 Secre
He rolled his eyes. Haha! Men!
David puckered his lips and ignored the message.
Secretly, he couldn’t wait for the day Sterling got knocked down a peg.

Meanwhile, Claudia had just dropped Whitney off and arrived at her apartment when Sterling’s video call popped up.
Sterling wore a black robe, his broad chest showing, his brown hair slightly messy as if he had just rolled out of bed. The look softened his usual cold, sharp edge.
“It’s early hours in the morning where you are, isn’t it?” Claudia asked, puzzled.
Sterling studied her through the screen.
She was dressed for the bar in a fitted red dress that hugged her waist, her collarbones bare, and long, toned legs crossed in view. Her small waist looked like it could fit into one hand.
With her face so close to the phone, her smooth hair, fair skin, arched brows, and red lips made her look like pure temptation.
Sterling’s thoughts turned sour. When I was around, she never dressed like this.
He completely forgot that back then, they were both homebodies. Who bothers with makeup and outfits when stuck at home?
Of course, with her looks, she was stunning either way–a barefaced beauty or dressed to kill.
His moment of distraction passed quickly. “Sit back. Let me see your arm.”
In the video David sent, Sterling saw a man ambushing her by throwing a bottle. Claudia blocked it for the woman beside her, then clutched her arm.
Claudia stepped back, confused.
What’s wrong with him? We are a single man and woman. It’s late at night, and now he wants to see a girl’s arm?
